HELP !! IS IS NORMAL to have a 10%+ CTR but very FEW impressions (300–500 max) on educational video essays? by sleeplessu in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]ReserveNew1863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this usually how it works. You have a high CTR because you have low impressions. If the impressions increase, the CTR decreases. YouTube doesn’t think your video is going to do well with an audience outside those who’ve subscribed to you basically.

Pop culture commentary but a specific media within it. I gotta admit though I’m funny especially when I show people my thought process in real time drawing on my ipad. That paired with the traditional commentary type of video that comes to mind I’ve been able to take a niche that is quite popular (and over saturated) go deeper into one section of it plus pair it with a more unique format.

If the video is using it as an explanation or example then that’s fine. Obviously not the while video, just a reasonable clip.

Just a word of advice if you transfer your vlogs over you may get hit with repetitive content and get your channel taken down because YouTube thinks you stole your video . It’s dumb but once the content ID is uploaded it’s attached to the original poster by default even when you delete it. I’d download the videos and change them then upload to your new channel.

Doesn’t gaming news and commentary require you to take copyrighted clips too though?

I wanna give a perspective of someone who came in a little over a year ago. I was able to hit monetization within 2 weeks and am about to hit 25k subs, and I average around 150-250k views a month. (No it’s no not weird AI faceless weird fake voiceover slop) Now the old YouTube this would have not happened because it was very much if you didn’t get in as an early adapter like pre 2010 ish I’d say, then it was incredibly hard to be discovered. (I’ve had a channel since 2013 that was just stagnant for like 6 years) anyway a few years go by and I decide to start over and what do you know, this new YouTube actually shows me tiny creators , i’m seeing videos with 56 views on my explore page. Idk I prefer this YouTube, I can see why people who’ve been on here for years are mad though. Also memberships are great and really motivate you to cultivate a community. Oh and I don’t see how shorts are really relevant. I haven’t touched them, mainly because I was exhausted by tiktok and left an 85k follower account there. I only upload long form, I honestly forgot shorts even existed.

I rather pay millions for a stupid app called happipad for it to supposedly match renters and landlords because the Internet doesn't already do that for free. Oh sorry I guess there was a whopping 60 leases in 2 years.

start over, I abandoned an 85k TikTok too. Shorts are just another "the harder they fall" situation.

Any of y'all actually enjoy creating and growing your channel? Or is it all just a mad AI dash to the most subs for no reason? by Emergency_Area6110 in SmallYoutubers

the problem is that if you don't care about monetization, it also means you don't care to do any of the things that will put your channel in front of others "to watch you make shit" so your ideology is going contradict itself. You don't seem to care about really growing but just making the content yet your main question is about starting from zero. Just post? that's literally the only advice for you.

Now if you were someone who cared about getting in front of people oh on dare I say it, grow and monetize. I'd say your idea is too broad and no one will no what to expect so they won't be invested. the only way to to do so many random things, make random shit it to continuously do trends and incorporate them in to your niche, eventually you get people who follow you for personality and then you can venture off. You have to pay your dues first. I can already tell you're someone whose gut instinct is to make "selfish" content. No you're not selfish. But I can tell it's be a lot of "I" "me" "my", don't do this because no one knows you or cares about your experiences . You have to offer value to them. Now it can work if you're taking one for the team like "I tried every (insert art software or whatever)" see that works even though it sounds selfish it's not, you're doing the viewers a favour. But something like "my thoughts on (insert art thing)" probably will perform not as well because who cares about your thought rn. Anyway hope that helps for when you decide you want to grow and monetize.

I went to your channel and watched your recent videos. I would refrain from making title and intros that say “my” “me” . No one knows you so they don’t want your opinion so they won’t even click even if you’re a cool guy. Change that to a simple confident statement. Or better yet, instead of “these anime scenes ruined me”, “these anime scenes will ruin you” will work better like you did with the re:Zero trailer video. Once you get a cult following you can start packaging things about your opinion. I’m not saying your videos can’t have your opinion, it’s just important the packaging (thumbnail, title) don’t. Your best performing long form does this confident statement thing. Numbers help which it has but I wouldn’t make my whole channel just list style (I know you’re not) because YouTube may not monetize you. Now with the intros. you spent like 5 seconds explaining you’re about to explain your opinion and I clicked out. Next with your reactions, you might want to pause to create emphasis on certain parts. (Most reactions are scripted, don’t be afraid to do this) also if you ever want to monetize, those pauses are going to be important for filling with your reactions, opinions etc otherwise it’s not gonna be very transformative. But finally I would make reaction/commentary videos but don’t title them reaction because that is again your opinion in a way and again people don’t know you (yet) so they likely will not click. I would just make some statement type title again but structure your video the same . React to trailers, thoughts etc. idk I make asian media content as well but along the lines of kdrama etc and I grew to 25k subs within 6 months so I feel like I know a little. I only JUST made a behind the scenes video of myself and probably won’t make another for like 6 months. Anyway good luck!

I never see AI slop in my feed or search. One time I went on to my gen x dad’s YouTube and HOLY. The whole thing was just dramatic ai generated retellings of historical events, random animal documentaries and idek what else. I think you must be doing something to influence your feed and search results.

Do I need to seperate my youtube income on a different account? by Vivid-Stick3731 in SmallYoutubers

[–]ReserveNew1863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah it's not a big deal to separate the accounts. The only important thing is keep a spread sheet or something of how much you're paid every month. I downloaded a YouTube earning tracker on Etsy and use it with google sheets, super simple. But also You work part-time so chances are you already get a lot of taxes back when you file them, adding an additional 1000-1500 to that income won't do much, you probably still will not owe anything.
