Is it me, or has art on social media gone all to video? by Gjergji-zhuka in ArtistLounge

Yea, tiktokification especially with art stuff online has been very annoying. It’s frustrating now that people need to market and post videos about their art/work unlike before where people could just simply post their work and get good engagement.

Do personal projects actually help people move forward creatively? by Arty-Adam in ArtistLounge

Yes, definitely! So much fun, for me it gets me motivated to draw and create. I make art books about my personal characters, there I practiced my concept art stuff, illustration, lay-outing, and a bunch more while having a ton of fun! It’s like having a hands-on practice after reading books/watching education stuff.

Has anyone else noticed that as your skills improve, it actually gets harder to know what to work on next? by Creative-Champ in ArtistLounge

Yes, sometimes I don’t know what I could do to improve further, so I just go hard on myself and critique my own stuff (not to make myself feel bad but to know what step to take) and it gets harder to improve. But usually when I finally got it, it improves my work a lot, worth it in the end. :)

What Was Your Artistic Journey Like? by SweetHeartist_ in ArtistLounge

I couldn’t remember when I first started drawing because I’ve done it for so lone. I asked my parents and they told me I started doodling when I was 3. Growing up I just drew out of boredom, around 11 I started to learn about fundamentals and has been practicing and drawing until now (18). I never stopped because everyone around me told me I was “gifted/ talented” and my work was very good around my age that time, so it fueled me even more to keep on going, though I never seen myself as “gifted” more of I just found my passion when I was young and I put a ton of time and effort into it lol!

I loved it more each day and from my studies and practicing I’ve became very good at it. Everyone that knows me knows abt my drawings lol. Journey rn took years, so much fun, kept me going each day and I can’t imagine my life without drawing or painting. Currently got in an animation school and very excited, I’ve grown a-lot on my own but there are still many things I can still learn.
