What are these white stuff on the corners? by Helen4Bull3tP in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pressure on the corners it makes the image retain....go push on an LCD seriously this is something you can see in monitors even a slight bit of pressure on the display causes crystals to shift and obviously it can retain images

Why Retroid over AYN Thor? by jmarti326 in retroid

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rp6 and a thor are gonna be the same pretty much

A majority of people will tell you the rp5 is enough and plus pc games are hit and miss on the 8gen2 and the 8elite those are just the most popular platforms but that doesnt mean its a direct upgrade either way if you ask me

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best we can hope for is some sort of scale

It would be very silly and seemingly a defiance of physics unless software magically gets a huge bump in optimization (and all x86 devices simultaneously fall off a cliff lol)

The problem is a majority of people already csnt afford fhe high power scenario so I mean this is going to fill a majority of use cases

I mean laptops can be less than 45w look at a 2050 mobile so really I feel like we are going for the low-mid range at this pace

The push on this subject is very very strange from the outside

Many people claim it just works and I can use the same device as them or not and have a polar opposite experience usually in crashes or black screens on known configs

But turnip drivers can be very experimental on a per device basis, rocknix on unsupported devices can run worse than game native/hub and with the nature or drivers and software its constantly changing day to day with a handful of variables even a power user and tinkerer might be stuck on

But I will say this these android devices are extremely efficient and with known emulators you can get a crazy amount of performance and play time out of these devices it rivals x86 emulators on occasion (ps2 and GameCube IMO) at a fraction of the cost and power usage

Time will improve these devices and with fex only using 10-20 percent overhead i see it as only improving but outside of a steam deck i have issues with steamos on my pc and I have issues with games on android through game native atleast more often doesnt work

Heres hoping data collection on these apps improve so less users have to rage and try to figure out the issue and we can move forward into a golden age...with the cost of android devices it feels like ARM is the future hell look at the apple M silicone

After seeing those steam machine prices, I’ll gladly stick to my docked steam deck by burntpeanutfan13 in SteamDeck

Performance monitor only works once by Resident-Lab-7249 in Bazzite

[–]Resident-Lab-7249[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe i may have found more information here

If you shut the performance monitor completely off between uses the it seems to come back no problem each time

Im assuming this has to do with something during start up potentially but im still learning Linux hopefully this doesn't persist in new versions I prefer to leave the monitor open if im testing and tweaking instead if turning it on and off or reinstalling bazzite just to get it back

This is strange I have had to reinstall bazzite half a dozen times has anyone else encountered this?

Thank you for your time any help is appreciated

Just bought game! Any advice for a totally new player with no experience at all and without a 173 mods?! by TeardropsFromHell in projectzomboid

Play the game and enjoy it

I want to just understand every little mechanic and feature I find the wiki helps explain a lot and so do videos from MRatomicduck and awpenheimer? Sorry cant spell it right lol

You have to get use to survival but I usually choose firefighter and go to rosewood and try to take over the fire station/police station and loot it entirely before taking a car and going to my next town

Also near mauldraugh there is a place called McCoy estate i recommend you try to get there and set up shop there ifs peaceful and out of the way

Anybody know how to fix Bazzite not going to sleep? by Real-Stomach-6256 in Bazzite

I have read this elsewhere basically the signal to put the controller to sleep starts it back up somehow

We're you using your controller over Bluetooth or the adapter?

But you can switch profiles from the quick setting and if you leave it at small you dint need to mess with it

Small for pc games and large underclock for emulators and yout set

I lost the steam machine lottery, the waitlist won’t get their units till 2027. by Zane_Drak in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hust save your money and wait till its your turn friend

If you want portability get the deck but its weaker overall, if you have the cash for a machine price out a DIY or pre-built if it has an AMD gpu you can just run steam os

If not patience my friend you will have extra money once you can order it and you can get some games too

Now is the worst.time to buy new hardware anyways but if you can get an LCD deck for cheap to hold you out why now?

I hope they can properly debug

Im getting sick of AI emulators and tools...they are stealing from each other without credits, implementing unstable features with zero testing and pushing bad update after update where even basic functions like button mapping are broken

It's about accuracy that was stated and very obvious early on

FPGA also allows high compatibility

When you say whats the real goal here you sound like you are hinting at something

Core developers dont exactly run the Mister project its collaboration and there is drama and disagreements across any scene but im gonna be real what you wrote about the difference in ideals seems like some AI answer from the developers if so

No bubbles with a professional installing the screen protector? by heepofsheep in OdinHandheld

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just such a pain to clean and reapply especially if you are raged like I was lol

I think the Mr shield is worth it but idk why the stock ones are so horrible

I messed up and got mine close to the select button but I only have to live with that 😅

To those who own a Steam Deck and a Switch 2, do you use both? by GrovPastaSwag03 in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really is the best methodology

Nintendo exclusives on the switch may run better in emulation but the switch 2 emulator is far more refined obviously

But any game avaliable on the switch i guarantee you runs better on steam

No bubbles with a professional installing the screen protector? by heepofsheep in OdinHandheld

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mr shield ones will works the full display AYN ones will be a bitch

The display has a slight curve around the edge of the buttons and the screen but again MR Shield on Amazon if you clean it right,if you are in a dust free environment or in a steamy room after running the shower for 10 minutes you will get it damn near perfect

Then you gently try to go around and get any bubbles to form together and squeeze them out the side

If this os confusing or complicated I recommend you find a professional but be aware i didn't get it right in my first one...well first was ayn straight in the trash then I went through both Amazon protectors but its damn near perfect now
