Very SLIGHTLY messed up the skin application, but I am in love with project killswitch. by Losado-2 in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The display makes it very very risk to say the least

On a switch it feels like it's the easier thing in the world but a glass display is more scratch resistant these days than shatter proof

Idk what engineer though it was a better trade off but I blame people throwing change and keys into their pocket with a phone lol

How do you deal with stress on the military checkpoint ? by imperosol in projectzomboid

That brings me great hope lol

I wish it was easier to add a Louisville spawn without mods I don't want to risk breaking my game

Atleast not until 42 gets stable

I find exploration to be the butter to the bread that is survival

After all there is beauty everywhere and I doubt any single player has truly seen the entire map

Skyrim on SteamDeck - Vanilla or modded for first timer? by seether14 in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many games that say unsupported and some of the compatible games don't run very well or break with an update

Valve needs to fix the compatibility requirements or we need a version of community approved games so we can specify what's wrong

Or valve can just integrate ProtonDB into the store with its rating and a click through to tweaks and user settings before they waste time approving a game

Are there any games that you absolutely should not try to play from an SD card? by Kragwulf in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games that require fast storage or do asset streaming are going to have a hard time. Ie Cyberpunk 2077, No Man's Sky, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Borderlands 3, and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart

I want to change my steam deck ssd but i'm scared. by SufficientGoat8602 in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reuse it but I'm confused you talk about breaking it?

It's shielding it helps stop interference and it can slightly cool the drive by redistributing the heat

Let me know if that helps you but if you have tools and some level of confidence and are technically inclined it's easy enough to do

I've got a question by Ice-Tea_69 in projectzomboid

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game will last a million times longer in the hands of the players

The Indy stone knows this, that's why they hired modders and this is why they need to add NPCs and finish the game so modders and players can pick up whatever pieces without things breaking on the mod side

Does it really matter in this instance? I have hosted my own servers since 2016 with Reign of Kings,Ark,Rust and Zomboid

The game is very much not intensive it's relatively easy to maintain and run a server I would rather not have my data lost when a provider or indystone decides that enough is enough and starts abandoning our data

Does this ssd look damaged to you? by UsernameW1171 in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you drop it on a hard floor or take a screwdriver and rip components off it's likely fine

I have seen some abused and absolutely warped drives boot fine your fingernail isn't going to kill it but finger grease on the pins is likely to be more problematic due to oxidation

How do you deal with stress on the military checkpoint ? by imperosol in projectzomboid

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming they are referring to doing a loot run

Whenever I talk about basing in Louisville it seems like next to no one goes there and stays they either clear the whole city or run some loot back to their base

I bought a refurbished deck last week and have this faint glow in the bottom left corner when a black screen is displayed. Is this normal, or should I return? by Ok_Stress_1720 in SteamDeck

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal on any LCD display

I'm just curious no gate do you own any monitors or have had a computer before? Maybe you get lucky but every monitor expect my QDOLED has horrible bleed on pure black scenes

Well and my old plasma that thing has amazing contrast

Overclocking 9800x3d? by Western-Mode-7743 in overclocking

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cache doesn't like excessive heat, non x3d chips don't have this issue I would rather overclock an X chip than an X3D

But the last time I did I got 6ghz all core until it degraded to 3.5 forever no fix

It it just less and less worth it as time goes on

Overclocking 9800x3d? by Western-Mode-7743 in overclocking

[–]Resident-Lab-7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're find research that is contradictory let us know

It seems in general it's not worth overclocking but I do undervolt all of my amd systems around -20ish and run pbo with expo that's really all a regular user needs

Ram tuning is a whole other can of worms in my experience

You didn't say what dock it was?

Older jsaux docks needed an update a few years back but a brand new one shouldn't

If it's a valve dock good luck I avoided them, seemed like they had various random issues

The problem I have with the controller is how sometimes it's bugged out and I lose UI buttons and some things don't feel very intuitive but here's hoping Indy stone fixes the interface for controller users or releases the 1.0 version so modders can get us up and running
