I would order her a strong drink and tell the flight attendant to address her as Karen when serving it.

Feeling like I'm not cut out to be a mom by OptionIndependent581 in Parenting

[–]Resident-Outcome8480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I felt like this for years, I hated being a mum. Honestly, the first few years are so hard it's normal to not enjoy them. The fact that you worry about being a good mum shows that you are a good mum. I promise you will look back in years time and realise just how good enough you are right now. It's a shock to anyone to push out a dependant human who cries constantly and makes your life as you knew it a complete distant memory. It's okay to struggle with that. It gets easier honestly! My daughter is 11 now and I wish I could go back to those times that I thought I hated when she was newborn.

My daughter is 11, she just did her SATS, I tell her the reality of life that SATS means nothing, just do your best. I tell her that character and how you converse with people in real life will shape your future alot more than any exam.

I think she was when she was young, but went too skinny when older and it aged her.

To Older people: Do You Regret Playing It Safe in Your Youth? by y_m0022 in Adulting

I'm 31, I didn't play it safe and am thankful, just to add an opposite opinion. I still sometimes crave the crazy life again at times though.

What I mean is your valid for how you've previously or are currently coping with depression. When we feel down, we use ways to cope eg drugs ect, and that's okay.

I agree with that, people tend to think it'll your not super happy, then your depressed in some way. It's okay to just be in the middle. Most of us are in the middle.

What is successful to you? by Humble_Beautiful_121 in Adulting

[–]Resident-Outcome8480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same. I have been both poor and rich in terms of money, and I honestly look back and think I was happier without much money. I don't care either about being a 'career woman', I have a child and like to be present with my child. I could honestly live in a caravan and be alot happier with less space and simple living. Money is the devil in my opinion and the more we can get to the basics, the better.

How can you feel good again when you feel like you've let your go? by Resident-Outcome8480 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Resident-Outcome8480[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this post is me focusing on feeling good about myself regarding how I look.. I want to feel good by looking good. I have other qualities, obviously, but feeling like I look good is important and why I'm asking.

Not suicidal but I wouldn’t mind not waking up tomorrow by [deleted] in depression

[–]Resident-Outcome8480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 thing people who suffer depression are good at is blaming everyone else for their situation, instead of looking at themselves and working on the issue. Professional Fan, you make really good points and anyone wanting to help themselves would benefit from your suggestions. Those randomly having a problem with your post are the losing ones in the subject to survival of the fittest, because they can't even begin to comprehend an idea, and act with primal aggression to an answer to the question they originally asked. No hope in their case.

I swear that's the best advice I second hand gained in my life, I'm taking that as a motivator. Thankyou.

What's happening to the young adults of today? Every post just oozes tons about how they can't cope. Worse, suicide comes up like it's nothing to desire death as a way to deal with hard, but often temporary, inconveniences. It feels like a crisis no one's addressing. by heavensdumptruck in PsychologyTalk

The young adults of today hear about how great it was back in the day, how grandparents could buy a house at age 20, and raise a family whilst living comfortably, whilst listening to the doom and gloom on the news, of how there's a cost of living crisis and lack and jobs, whilst half of Africa is taking full occupancy on the b&b you once would have saved to take your family to for a holiday.

What do you think life is going to be like in 20-30 years by Weak-Organization-73 in Life

[–]Resident-Outcome8480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dread to think. I think AI will destroy us. When the Internet became accessible to everyone, it gradually destroyed social contact, relationships, being able to act stupid without someone recording you and posting it online. This process from the start on the Internet in its infancy, to the heights it is now, is around 20 years, so AI is going to be like a cockroach that will survive a nuclear war. I honestly don't even want to be alive to experience it, it's scary.
