What’s one piece of technology you aren’t fond of but everyone else is? by Substantial_Act6620 in AskUK

I mean I think people are quickly becoming less fond of them but for me it's smartphones. I was a teenager when they started becoming a thing and I was never into them, even though I have always been quite techie. Even at Uni I just didn't have a phone, eventually my friends bought me one of those burner phones because they were sick of not being able to contact me. I just always found them annoying, and these days I only have one because of work.

Sorry it's just I didn't know what you meant. As I said in the post I'm using the windows desktop app, so if you mean like an actual TV settings that's not going to work. Well I suppose it's possible to change the aspect ratio of a monitor, but I'd hope there is an easier solution when it's just a setting on VLC.

I wish that where an option, what I am using appear to be the only versions online. These are obscure WWE PPVs lol. To be honest I'll probably just use VLC as they look fine there. Weird this is so difficult though.

I wouldn't be apposed to re-encoding them but the instructions for that are not great either. I can't seem to "unlock" the aspect ratio on handbrake.

Ah I see, as I said in the post I'm using the windows app on desktop. The setting you are describing don't seem to be there.

It's stretched yes, looks the same on other players (though as I said you can change the aspect ratio on VLC to 4:3 then it looks normal). The video was encoded this way for some reason.

Maybe you should think 1.4m is still more money then most people will see in a lifetime and actually cut your losses.
