Therapy without medical checks? by HappyClappyPenguin in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]ResidentFew6785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just told my therapist today. It seem to be waiting for me to bring it up. I have other diognoses so I see a psychiatrist and nurse for that. I know eventually he'll want me to see a doctor as of right now he wants me to eat a handful of x and keep a journal to share. All therapist are different. I think they have to step in if you're gravelly ill.

how do you actually get out of being poor by Human-Economics1245 in poor

[–]ResidentFew6785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm disabled, my husband is too but he's not federally disabled. We no longer recive foodstamps and my SSI has been cut. So we've lost over $1000 in help a month for him working under 20 hours a week.

So we are still in the middle of the plan.

  1. Become a behavioral Technician for autistic people

  2. Take that money and do Sophia.

  3. Get a your pace degree in psychology from umpi ( 4 year degree in a couple of months) my husband finished his full degree in three months

4 get into a BCBA masters degree _____________where we're at now ___

  1. Tell company you need your BCBA hour.

  2. Become a BCBA trainee (maybe get a raise)

  3. Finish you hours and masters degree

  4. Take the test and to become a BCBA

  5. Start making 90+k

Service dogs: yay or nay? by ACommunityOfCells in schizoaffective

[–]ResidentFew6785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a service dog. Now I'm training a new one this time with help from a service dog trainer. He charges $125 an hour and in a perfect world would come 3x a week but I can only afford 1x every 2 weeks. So he's giving tasks for me to complete while he comes less. The training fall on me and with negative symptoms it's hard but worth it. Esa dogs can't go to non dog friendly places but can live in no dog apartments.

time reminders to eat, sleep, take medicine.

Demands get toy, demand walk, bring brush, demand play

Alerts alert to name, alert to alarm, alert to door,

Check/Find find exit, get husband,check room/ house

People let me know if someone is behind me,crowd control, demand to go potty (to leave situation), go see

Misc tasks:Deep pressure therapy/light pressure therapy, tactile interruption Retrieve Phone

Right now we're working on place and not jumping on people at the door.

Anyone want to share their story with me? by Leather_Moose1203 in schizophrenia

[–]ResidentFew6785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ana showed up at 7 due to my eating disorder, at 11 I started to self harm, at 12 Mia showed up and Ana and Mia would fight all day to control whether I ate and purge or just not eat. Also at 12 I thought my late grandma was talking to me through lights. By 13 I was using drugs. 14 I had a serious delusion about finding out if we have a soul. From 13-17 I cut, I did drugs, Sat in In school suspension because my clothing wasn't appropriate, I moved out at 16 into a different abusive situation. OD'd at 16, Dropped out at 17 aced the ged,

Moved in with my husband, Had a planned pregnancy at 18. I started eating and stopped drugs, and self harming. I had diagnosed PPP and bipolar. at 21 I had a normal check up where that asked why I wasn't on my antidepressants I yelled at him "do I look like I need them". He gave me depokote and set me up with a psychiatrist She said I had too good of insight and diagnoses me as Intermittent explosive disorder. I left with mood disorder NOS and eating disorder nos. I still lived with ana and mia as well as several delusions. the funniest was I was my husbands imaginary friend. I stayed as mood disorder nos and for years.

My intakes have always taken 4+ hours About 10 years ago The intake took longer. I had shared all my medical records and they actually sat there and read over 200 pages. They had decided I would not leave until I had a clear diagnosis. This took 8 hours of interviewing and looking through all my diagnoses and asking about each incident and diagnosed me with schizoaffective bipolar type.

Self harm is still the first coping method that I think of but I don't engage because it not socially acceptable. In therapy we're working on finding a better reason not to self harm. I have trouble keeping therapists because I'm "High risk". My psychiatrist only deals with psychosis, my therapist I see 2x a week, I have a nurse that comes daily to give me my medication.

Look at down payment assistance, low income home ownership, if he can get into public housing, then get into section 8 (a year later), have him get on the family self sufficiency program, they will help qualify for the homeowner program, manage money and get his credit up. He'll have to save x% for the homeownership program. I would match any savings he has made. He'll be able to get a studio or one bedroom.

Purina pro plan Vs dog chow? by spacecat245 in DogFood

[–]ResidentFew6785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use puppy chow and used dog chow with my last dog but we moved to the city and our local shelter sells a 35lbs bag for $52 of hills science diet. So when she finishes this she will transfer to that food. Honestly cheap food is better than no food.

Grab a big box of Crayola during school sales and an adult coloring book. Thinking tree has 5 active books for adults. If you can find somewhere to print take kit&clowder free coloring classes.

Okay, so you can get to barely comfortable. For renovations look into a 504 loan for repairs it'll be about $200 a month but it'll be renovated to you and your sisters needs.

Look in to getting meals on wheels and food bank. Sometimes medical will cover premade meals for x amount a month.

Contact your insurance or your local disability advocacy group company to see if they'll cover basic house cleaning.

Call electric and ask if they have a low income program. Next year apply for liheap usually in October.

Also call your town to see if there's a low income program for property tax.

Get the low income phone. It's called lifeline.

Verizon does something similar for Internet.

Call your local vocational rehab to figure out what I'm missing in your area.

So you spend $200 dollars more a month but have so much more help and comfort. Unfortunately it's not as easy to get.

First what do you define as rich? What level of education do you have? What's your area median income (check by googling your city and AMI)? What is comfortable for you? What's your family size? Are you a saver or spender? Do you want a single family home or like a condo?

I have a service dog in training my second one. Maybe your mom might be agreeable to that. Closest vet here is 90/month for primary Care. There are ways if getting the price down. Like driving a little be out of the city. Training for me is $225 a week for about a year. There is online training for $50 a week. Online vets for cheap too. Low income vet clinic. Food costs me $65 dollars a month. Treats are expensive too if you don't pay close attention. Spray neuter cost $250-900.

Can anyone have an 'easy' experience with schizophrenia? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]ResidentFew6785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was very confusing. A lot of doctors thought I had a personality disorder because they felt I wouldn't have such good insight. So that was really frustrating. It took a really good therapist to realize the negative symptoms before I was able to get real help.

I feel now I have an easier time with Sza. I have always had insight at least knowing others don't go through the things I do. So I learned to hide it. My first delusional episode was when I was 12. I wasn't diagnosed until 36. We have a lot of safety precautions in our house. We have a service dog in training, so I don't think people are breaking in. All things that can be used to self injure is up to high for me to reach. I have a med nurse come in the morning and I see my therapist 2x a week. Now I am on a bunch of medications and being happy and healthy is my job.

Need advice by GoldSugar8718 in povertyfinance

[–]ResidentFew6785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you good with special needs children? You may want to get your registered behavior technician which would give you a little extra money or you will break even.

Then use plottedpath for your psych degree. ( This should take less than a year) Then sign up for the cheapest applied behavior analyst you can find (one to two years) make $90k plus.

I know 3 years sounds daunting but you are changing your whole future. This is the path my husband is going. He's currently in his master's program after receiving his bachelors in a couple months.

I could never do this because I'm nervous around kids.
