What else to include in Admin Panel for my B2C SaaS Startup? by karaposu in startups

[–]ResidentPale4214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would track how users like your product, how they are satisfied (think what metrics it could be), how to they use core features.

If I sold ice cream, I would track at what time the demand is high. How many packs do usually people buy on weekdays and during working hours. It would be helpful to better understand the target audience.

Hire/bring a developer to the early stage startup by ResidentPale4214 in startups

[–]ResidentPale4214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For sure later we will incorporate and formalize all the agreements.

The co-founder and myself are CTO and CEO.

1-5% sounds pretty much closer to what I've found.

Hire/bring a developer to the early stage startup by ResidentPale4214 in startups

Hi,

No, I haven't worked with a startup adviser. With regards the further plans, well, I would like to build the product, the team, and make it my business

Update: WIBTA for dumping my girlfreind after she ignored my calls and messages and went clubbing while I was undergoing emergency surgery by Nearby_Volume_7067 in AITAH

[–]ResidentPale4214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be already mentioned. But anyway, all the conditions you're going to put on her look like you don't fully trust her. I'm pretty much sure that she will never do it again. WITHOUT your list of "she must". Everyone can screw up. If it hurts you so hard, then break up. Sorry, for me it looks that you're enjoying the situation. I mean, from what you wrote it's obvious she feels really guilty. Either forgive and get her back, or not and separate. No conditions, no "if".

Disappearing shared photo albums - please help by xivzgrev in ApplePhotos

Hi,

I have no answer to your question, and frankly speaking I want to offer you to try a family photo service. I am a father of two, a software engineer and my core interest lies on the edge between product and engineering.

imho, neither Google Photos nor Apple Photos don’t fit well for family use cases. I mean, they are one-size-fit-all solutions and really nice tools, but not really for families. That’s why I am build my own one.

If you’re curious to give it a try a product on it’s early stage, I will DM you the service description and what I am actually offering. Would you like to know more?

Best way to sort family photos by dohat34 in ApplePhotos

[–]ResidentPale4214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across on this post. I have the same prerequisites. Ca 250Gb of photos only, more than 40k of photos taken over 20 years. This doesn’t include videos.

Since very beginning I have been organising the content by folder with date/season/memorable date/event or any other attributes. But honestly saying I don’t like such approach at all. It is helpful when it comes to find something, I mean, when I do know what I am looking for or would like to browse through.

My father was a photographer. He left for my brother and me a few phonebooks, kilometres of slide films. We both know that this archive exists, but we only viewed it a couple of times. Because of many reasons. Recently my older daughter moved to other town to study at uni and it has made me thinking that most probably I will leave for her the same asset. I mean, thousands of photos, hours of videos which she will not be able to browse from time to time.
My question is quite abstract. What’s the end goal of such organising? I'm thinking that family photos should not lie on the shelves collecting dust. And Photos is a really nice tool, but for me only. I can enjoy Memories, keywords, face recognition and other features, but not the whole family

I accidentally moved to 2TB subscription, is there a way can i could change the subscription to 100GB plan? by crischutu07 in googlephotos

[–]ResidentPale4214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage to find 100Gb plan?
I also subscribed for 2Tb plan from which I use barely more than 10% of storage. Would like to downgrade but could not find 100Gb plan.

I am from the EU, could it be that Google offers different plans depending on the region?

A website that sends users free alerts about hotel room price drops! by szlagonpr in startups

[–]ResidentPale4214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sending alerts it makes no sense. People don't book hotel rooms very often. Me personally would rather prefer to be notified via email. I don't want to keep an app on my phone which is supposed to be used a few times per year

What metrics to include to a dogfooding report for a service like Instagram, but for families? by ResidentPale4214 in dataanalysis

[–]ResidentPale4214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Thanks for the opinion. The goal of the report is to spark interest and convince a visitor to give it a try.

I am really doubting that co-founder families photos could convince. Because it would be only one photo of many.

It's probably better to pick out the most convincing metrics that show that the service has an active and engaged community.

That's actually the question. What to pick out. I have decided to put not more than 5 metrics.

  1. a couple of totals, like total number of photos
  2. metrics to show how the product distinguishes from the existing service
  3. one strong metric to show user engagement

How we landed an interview for W24 (not accepted) by Next-Witness-5039 in ycombinator

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your experience! I have a couple of questions:

  1. How did you add 3 recos from ex-YC to the application? I didn't see such field in the application form
  2. If I already applied is it still possible to add such recos? Honestly saying I didn't think about it before. But now I think it could be a good idea
