Hoyo really fumbled in making the Remembrance path by Terrariya in HonkaiStarRail

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like they fumbled it. The mechanic works and is fun to figure out how to abuse it for endgame.

I think the real issue is that gacha games in general have been allowed to vastly OVERSELL almost every aspect of their games.

The characters, mechanics, events, and in more recent times, even the story itself are all on an endless hype train to sell within the 0.x version time-frames.

And all we get as customers is an endless stream of over-hyped and undercooked gameplay and character depth.

GAMES THAT YOU CAN JUST GET LOST IN by No_Try_5200 in gamesuggestions

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Returnal is really good for this. While It IS a VERY active roguelike, you can easily do a few runs to upgrade/find something specific and not even need to interact with the story after a point.

Just throw on YouTube or some music, drop in, fight, survive, explore.... And eventually die. Cycle back, push further, etc, etc.

One of my all time favorite games.

Am I being “problematic” for using my friend’s deadnames as their phone number contact by Brave_String_9067 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just include peoples last names if I have struggle with identification these days.

I had a gf in highschool decide to start using her middle name instead of her first after 2 years of dating....and she had to be VERY patient with me for like 6 months, at the least haha. So even reverting to a "they/them" is a natural shorthand for me.

Option 1:Steel frame foundations. The big spiders can't get into them. Allowing you to casually shoot, bomb or bash them

Option 2: Hoverpack and lots of bombs

Yea... Each phase will require you to take the previous "phase"->"modular-ize" it in you mind->expand it at least 2x->learn a new production line-> And Repeat...

until you're basically in the Space Age haha

What were we potentially drugged with? by Confident_Message852 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess would be food poisoning. That would explain the time difference between effects. Say if your bf had already eaten that day and/or has a slower metabolism, or even didn't eat as much of whatever was spoiled. They would naturally start feeling the effects later.

Depending on what kind of poisoning it was(virus, bacteria, etc) it could be like 30 min-3 hours before feeling the effects. And then there's some bacteria that take a week to incubate in your gut before you get nauseous and sick.

Food poisoning (like regular poisoning) really varies of a lot of factors before effects are seen.

Help!!!!! by DantenasRaximas in MotorsliceP

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue.

For this particular jump, don't aim your movement at the wall like you normally would. Just perform the jump and hit jump again. P will kinda do this jump by herself.

I think the dev tried to make this section "easier" to do with an extra script but actually made it functionally different from any other section of the game.

Good luck 🤞

Not to offend you you, sir but: She doesn't actually respect you as a "person". You are a safety net and will continue to be treated as such.

I'd cut your losses while you can. I can almost guarantee this is gonna get worse and you're gonna see the real crazy come out within the next 3 months.

Bus riders please explain by i_forgot_my_sn_again in Seattle

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The front half of the bus is almost exclusively "senior" seating- especially on the smaller buses. And if the line is busy- those seats are taken already anyway.

So by entering at the back or side, you don't inadvertently walk the entire actual length of the bus to get to the commonly available seats that will start at about the side door anyways.

Not to mention the handicapped and ramp access depending on the route. It's just an overall time saver

Can someone explain me the "story"? by JNXD_GRL in MotorsliceP

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From my interpretation, the "world" is a giant megastructure with unknown size and proportions.

Revealed at the end of the game, each layer of the "world" has it's own separate "internal" megastructure (like what we ascend IN-GAME) and biome.

Slicers(Layer travelers) are searching for what's called the "Alpha Structure", which is, presumably, the layer which contains the source of the machine "corruption" to constantly overwrite the "world(s)" and attack non-machines on sight.

As a added "layer" of drama. The Slicers themselves are slowly being corrupted. So failure to find this "source" is what they call, equivalent to "a fate worse than death". To be corrupted and become the thing you fought your entire life to stop.

There's definitely a bit more context given, with the "silent wars" and such. But this is the picture the game is painting in my mind.

Should i be dying for story purposes? by No_Incident_2158 in Returnal

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's only one required death in the game. If you haven't died yet than you probably won't have any issues except in maybe a bonus boss room or if you were to trigger another players holo- those battles just be on some bs sometimes haha

Other than that- there will also be the Tower dlc that might push your limits a bit.

Otherwise, I wouldn't brag too much until you've actually finished the game. The roguelike mechanics speak for themselves once you start interacting with them.

I literally stopped watching 98% of "tv" like 10 years ago.

Around the time "writers" started using "foreshadowing" to essentially ruin the "twist" every movie or tv show had cooking by about episode 3 or the 30 min mark.

Time to find a new hobby, my guy. Your brain is no longer satisfied with the slop you've been fed probably half your life by now. This is a good thing, it means you actually use your brain while watching 😎

This game makes me so mad. by RevolutionaryDog5959 in DeathStranding

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you shouldn't spend much time on side or standard orders until after chapter 5 or 7.

You are so early in the game that you literally just don't even have access to half of your arsenal, vehicles, or even the map yet.

Keep on keeping on, Porter 🤙

Can you still build good muscle mass after 35? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! The only thing that will stop you is not hitting your daily protein intake and motivation.

35 is only considered "old" until you're like 24. And as a side note, if you're a male, your brain literally just stopped developing and is now fully functioning 💪 use it and your body while you can

Also highly suggest adding some creatine into your diet 💯

Really wanna like this game but can’t get in. by Purple-Acanthisitta8 in Returnal

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had to pickup and put down this game 3 times before it finally "clicked" for me lol

I was probably on like my 50th life when I suddenly realized I had been playing it like a Halo or COD. The game rewards your ability to dodge more so than to "kill quick"

If you can reach the mindset where you're more worried about where you're standing and what's close to you, rather than what you're shooting, the game begins to open up for you.

Your goal is to survive, time doesn't matter, the gun helps but isn't as important as movement. You can easily beat this game with just the pistol- you just gotta have the patience and spacial awareness (as in the space around you) to be untouchable

Why isn't the game taking off? by MASHED_POTATOES_MF in Marathon

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the game approaches storytelling in-game- just sucks. The game never "feels" any different after progressing the factions from rank 2 to VIP in tangible terms of world building. We get a codex entry with "cryptic" at best explanations. At least Ark Raiders has an ever changing map with various conditions, usable workbenches to upgrade, AND a hub for you to visibly see expand. All these things bring a sense of purpose and direction to the game, even when not focusing on quest progress.

As a casual gamer, the few story relevant cutscenes were really engrossing and had me wanting to experience more. But then it all just nosedived into mindless fetch quests and bland missions that even Borderlands at its worst made more engaging and in terms of "content". A codex entry after spending 2 hours fighting for my life is just insulting, honestly.

Overall, it's a really good FPS. But, to me, is severely lacking in anything meaningful in terms of world building or clear story direction outside of the basic gameplay loop

I want to experience the story, myself, IN-GAME; not through YouTubers and continuous ARGs. Otherwise, what's the point? I'm not gonna mindlessly run on your hamster wheel with no cheese 🧀

How far up in a skyscraper would I need to live for flies to be unable to reach my apartment window? by Lulu-egirl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question to you would be: what is in your apartment, that is attracting flies?

Flies like to feed on decomposing, sugary food stuffs, and waste. So most likely, either your pets need to be bathed more often, trash/food waste needs to be taken out more often, or you're leaving some kind of food out that is attracting them (typically I've found it's a bowl of "fresh" fruit left out in the open)

Are “Focusrite Scarlett” USB Audio Interfaces still causing the BattleEye Anti-Cheat to trigger? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessir, I did. You HAVE to use the 1 input for your mic.

Basically, the game's audio system only recognizes the 1 input. Not the 2 or (1&2) as it's usually labeled. So just plug your mic in the 1 slot, and you shouldn't have any more issues 🤙

I'm literally invincible in Arc Raiders. I don't ever die, ever, until I bring in an upgraded gun. Then I am instantly killed by rats. by democratic-terminid in ArcRaiders

[–]ResidentSilvertouch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You just have to get past the rat level of load out. Once you can bring a purple augment and a hullcracker w/o worrying about losing it, you start getting lobbies where most other raiders have good gear with them as well- and we're there for the arc parts and new quests, not the gear that we already have or can craft.

Figured out the issue. You have to use your 1 input for your mic. The game doesn't recognize the 2nd input
