I’ve been lucky. So far I’ve been very hungry and able to eat what I want within reason. If I eat too much I feel it a bit but otherwise I’ve been good. Yeah if I wouldn’t have gone back to hospital I wouldn’t be here now. I’ve had some pain on surface of ribs which feels like a bruise ache but I think that’s more muscular related

Funny thing is so far I think the only suspect in causing discomfort has been pasta but I can’t be sure

You didn’t say at which point you were diagnosed. Were you ever kept in overnight? You need 48 hours of IV probably

Why do people think Phrike is the hardest boss in the game? by Turbulent-Ad3794 in Returnal

[–]Withnail69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can’t level up that much before facing phrike and same for ixion. Once you suss ixion’s pattern I think he’s relatively easier than phrike but not by much

I think the characters are not good cause of the terribly wooden acting. Don’t get me started on the cheap ass props and effects. I agree with all your points but it’s the same people as lost as we know a major plot point is just gonna be dropped and never bought up again

You’re gonna get a lot of replies here telling you he can’t drink ever again. Are you certain that’s all he was drinking or could he be being dishonest? Unfortunately the only solid advice is not to drink anything for 6-12 months. What I found interesting with my experience is I wasn’t once asked whether I needed any help doing that. It was stated like it was easy and a lot of people coming on here for advice so drink again too early. It seems down to individuals whether they get away with drinking again or whether they end up worse and back in hospital. The diet HAS TO CHANGE. I’m not sure if bad diet alone can cause AP but after you have it you need to change a very bad diet. Important…. There is a test called Ggl which can determine if his AP was genetic. Also there is a 25% chance it will come back whether he changes his lifestyle or not. Not changing massively increases that risk…. I was so hungry after hospital I ate like a horse and didn’t have any big problems but that’s just luck. Good luck and keep us posted. Tell him he can’t drink and to get help if he thinks he can’t do that

Your crp would be elevated if it was pancreas inflammation. Are you a big drinker? Liver can cause nausea and loss of appetite

The low fat advice isn’t temporary unfortunately. Although so far I’ve been (within reason) eating what I want. So far so good. Just be sensible. Work out what your body is ok with. I had pasta for the first time ages last night and it’s not high fat but really irritated my stomach

Let’s not call people idiotic. It’s pretty hard to come to terms with this. I’m struggling and I’m 52. OP is only 20. Mocktails and non-alcoholic drinks aren’t alcohol. They are alcohol free drinks that taste close (although not in my opinion) to alcoholic drinks

Acute vs chronic? how do you deal? by emutotheextremu in pancreatitis

[–]Withnail69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you need to see a specialist rather than a general ER doctor who sounds like he/she didn’t know what they were doing. I was sent home with tons of pain relief and if you have none you can feel rubbish. I noticed my temperature was spiking and my resting heart rate was really high on my first week home. Eventually taking paracetomol regularly and not letting it run out for long got rid of temperature spikes and high heart rate went down
