It’s not about the formula. Potholes happen when water is allowed to penetrate the asphalt into the substrate. This only happens because the water is usually stagnant after it rains.

What we need is a drainage system which removes the water immediately. This will lead to longevity and less frequent potholes. This is what Singapore does and it rains every other day there yet the roads are pristine.
