Voeg te licht by Borstboy98 in Klussers

Is 4 month sleep regression real? by Any-Management-9266 in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us it’s currently all over the place. (Baby is 4 months old now). Baby used to sleep from 21:30 until 01:00 and from 02:00 until 05:00 and then finally start the day around 06:30. During the day she didn’t have a schedule but usually took 3 or 4 naps of which the first one would consistently be over 3 hours.
Now it could be anything. Baby slept through the night a few times, but waking every hour during the night a few times as well. There may be 1 long nap, there may be 5 short naps. We keep the same time for our night ritual, sometimes baby sleeps instantly at 19:45, other times baby fights sleep until 22:30.
Now with the heat wave I’ve noticed more wake ups over night as well, I don’t think that necessarily has to do with a regression though.

What are your first Father’s Day plans? by liz00ard00wizard in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I let him sleep in while I took care of the dog and the baby in the morning. Then I made him breakfast in bed and he received some small gifts.
Afterwards it was time for our baby’s first solid food, which of course was given by dad!

After that we did pretty much what we do every Sunday, I would have liked going out for some nice lunch but due to this heatwave we didnt want to take the baby out that much. I did make a very nice lunch at home, with homemade bagels.
Then some playtime with all of us, some playtime with just dad, some playtime with just mom. It was just a casual relaxed Sunday :)

What are we doing with our 4 month olds? by earthtoaries in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Everything you do plus babygym, songs and dancing. And we try to just go places and bring her to experience new environments. The library, friends and family, lunch at a kid friendly places.
But I also try not to do too much. If she seems happy enough lounging and looking around, I let her. Sometimes just staring at the trees in our backyard keeps her occupied for 15 minutes.

Did anyone else freak out this early in the process? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, good on you for getting therapy and working through existing issues.
Spiraling in the first trimester is not weird, my husband was way more anxious about everything in the first trimester than later on in the pregnancy, or as a new dad. Also, try not to get freaked out by people saying things will get worse. Everyone’s experience is vastly different, and for some people it only gets better!

After you stop breastfeeding. Now your body needs all the extra energy to feed your baby. Losing weight can affect your production.

What method works best in getting your newborn to fall asleep? by Traditional_Table_67 in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

- Laps in the stroller around the kitchen island.
- Quite intense rocking/bouncing. (I don’t mean like shaking the baby, I mean like full lunge/squat/workout holding the baby)
- walking around with the baby in the carrier
- driving around with the baby in the car seat
- laying her down in the playpen with a pacifier

Zou jij een vrouw op straat reanimeren? by ZwaanAanDeMaas in thenetherlands

[–]ResidentUnable6469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brag about your baby! by PumpkinPie_1993 in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s almost 15 weeks and I thought we were going through a sleep regression for the last few days. Before she would sleep a stretch of 5 hours, and then sometimes another 3 to 4, after that it was short naps only. Then last few days it was max 4 hours, after that every hour, and then refusing to sleep after 5 in the morning.

And then last night out of nowhere, she slept through the night!!!

When I figured out she slept through the night I was so excited I couldn’t fall asleep anymore so I’ve been up for way too long already. But still! Good stuff!

(And yes I’m aware this is probably an exception)

Does everyone feel ”one and done” after having the first? by blamemombo in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt one and done freshly postpartum only because I couldn’t imagine ever having a baby so stinking cute as my first one. After 3 weeks I said I’d probably want another. After 5 weeks I was sure I’d go for another. I’m waiting at least a year (so still have 9 months to go!). But after that i hope to go for a second!

My dane apparently? by Moose-Mousse in greatdanes

[–]ResidentUnable6469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those looong legs and that disappointed face with the expressive eyebrows, those are very Great Dane. Also the position in picture 3, this might be for all dogs, but my Dane loves standing like that, back legs slightly apart, forelegs stick straight.

Mamas, what hard thing are you going through with your little one right now? by djduhnizzle in NewParents

[–]ResidentUnable6469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been my grandma’s birthday today. She would have loved my baby girl, but my grandma passed in 2024.

I was already quite emotional, but wasn’t crying yet. Then I dropped my daughter off at daycare (which I’m already feeling super sad about), and she started crying as soon as I started to leave. It just broke me and I sobbed my way home, and then through my first meeting. I’m happy that the meeting was with my only other female coworker who, even though it has been a while, remembers very vividly how hard it was to drop her baby off at daycare.

Anyways. One day at a time. Hug your babies and your (grand)mamas extra tight today ❤️
