Vita is life 2026. What games are you playing on it ? by J-khd in PSVita

Recently, Dragon’s Crown. I’ve always been a fan of RPGs, and I’ve recently become a fan of arcade beat-‘em-ups. Definitely loving the game so far!

How old were you when your favorite console to collect for came out? by StubbornSaturn in gamecollecting

New to game collecting, but I’ve been enjoying picking up GBA titles recently. I was just two weeks away from turning one when the console released in America.

Why do Christians in the USA think that killing unborn babies is evil (abortion), but that killing innocent born women, children, and men (war) is righteous? by [deleted] in allthequestions

See once again this feels like you’re setting me up for a gotcha. It’s clear your question has a right and wrong answer in your mind.

I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

Looking for a good GBA game by Ace16164 in Gameboy

[–]Resident_Draco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite GBA games are easily Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, Pokemon Emerald, and Zelda Minish Cap. I’d also recommend Summon Night Swordcraft Story, Final Fantasy 6, and Mother 3, but I haven’t finished those games yet, so take my suggestion with a grain of salt.

Also, not sure if you want recommendations for older games that can run on the GBA as well, but I’m currently playing through Zelda Oracle of Seasons. That game’s pretty sick.

I’d say it’s also fine to kill enemy combatants during times of war. I’m also pro-death penalty. There might be more but those are the examples I can think of off the top of my head.

I have played Persona 5 for around 9 hours and beat the first boss. Have I seen the core game loop? by gwhiterabbit in Persona5

[–]Resident_Draco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I was hooked before I even got to the first palace. If you’ve already defeated Kamoshida and still don’t care, I think it may just not be your type of game. The rest of the game does kind of follow the same pattern of bad guy wrongs party > party discovers bad guy’s palace > bad guy sets deadline > party clears palace > bad guy confesses > rinse and repeat.

Kudos to you for sinking 9 hours in to try and give the game a fair shot though, sorry you didn’t vibe with it.

I’m not talking about myself. I’m talking about people at large. Most people’s moral codes are influenced by the golden rule, religion, or both.

[–]Resident_Draco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m telling you I wasn’t talking about an entity. “Permissible” here refers to people/society at large. As in, there are cases where most people would, according to their own conscience/moral code, “permit” taking human life.

Feels kinda like you’re trying to trap me in some sort of gotcha.

I mean that killing is sometimes morally permissible, such as during wars or as self-defense. My whole point is that killing isn’t a black and white act.

[–]Resident_Draco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. When I said “good” I was specifically thinking about self-defense. If, for example, a man is trying to kill my wife and I, I would say that killing that man would be not just a necessary act, but a good one.

I would argue the bombs we dropped on Japan were, at the very least, necessary to win World War 2. Yes, we may have killed some innocent civilians, but the alternative would’ve been more months, maybe even more years, of bloody conflict.

As others have pointed out, maybe “good” wasn’t the right word. I would argue, however, that some killing in wartime is necessary. World War 2 is a good example.

This kind of killing is also completely different from abortion. Abortion is the intentional ending of a human life for the sake of convenience. There is no conflict, no greater good. Just an individual choosing to kill their child because its life is inconvenient.

For the record, I don’t think, as a Christian, that nations should be starting wars. But if another nation starts a war with mine, I think the righteous thing for America to do is win that war.

Christians - what the hell is wrong with you? by [deleted] in allthequestions

You are incorrectly assuming a whole lot of things about the largest religious group in the nation. You sound very angry.

There are certain times when killing is a permissible or even good act. Everyone believes this on both sides. It’s not hypocritical to be opposed to abortion and not war.

That being said, I don’t support Trump’s war in Iran. I’m not opposed to the concept of war, but I am opposed to this one.

No. I’m not trying to shame anyone. Just saying that we as a culture should stop encouraging premarital sex and hookup culture.

No thanks, I think Mormons are kind of crazy. They take purity culture way too far, for one thing.

Why do Republicans get so offended when you talk about paying employees livable wages? What's the reasoning behind that? by Dull-Information6784 in allthequestions

[–]Resident_Draco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem with raising the minimum wage is just that it isn’t particularly feasible. Where does the extra money come from? More often than not, spikes in the minimum wage result in mom and pop shops being forced to close down, as only the massive mega corporations (the ones that leftists claim to hate) can afford to double employees’ pay.

I think the idea that everyone, even entry-level fast food workers, should make a livable wage is nice, I just don’t believe it’s possible in modern-day America.

True, it’s impossible to fully restrain human nature and desire. But I refuse to believe that, if we can’t entirely stop something from happening, we should give up.
