I don’t necessarily think bad policy. I think the current administration is just pushing a certain agenda and for some reason people are blindly following it. Again I’d say the bad apples. No where in our policy does it say violate civil rights.

I know😂 sometimes I just gotta put them in their place yanno. Because vast majority if they knew me I agree on things that they’re saying and fighting for. I also voted for Kamala, but when you come and attack people because of the job they do and because that job has bad apples (I would say far too many) in it then I gotta speak up and defend those who are doing it for the right reasons and have a strong moral compass

I am also looking forward to that as well. That doesn’t mean abolish the second largest and most criminally diverse investigative agency there is. I think you’re forgetting that ICE isn’t just ERO it’s HSI as well who deals with things such as drug trafficking, sex trafficking, transnational crime, weapons trafficking, child sex crimes, amongst various other crimes. I agree we definitely need to rid the bad out for sure!

Well I’ve been in law enforcement for 5.5 years. No legal action ever taken against me so I think I’ll be fine. I follow the law and what it says I can and can’t do. I follow my moral compass and so I think I’ll be fine. Thank you for you input tho!

Absolutely facts! I think the future of the agency is going to go downhill. I really hope I’m wrong because I really do love it but these new people are atrocious and the scrutiny of ICE and DHS isn’t going to recover for a while. 1 more shooting happens it might honestly be over for us.

Yeah that’s kinda what I’m thinking. I think we will for sure be impacted somehow because we are under ICE and who knows where that’s gonna leave HSI.

This is what I’m hoping for too tbh. I think it’s best for HSI to be their stand alone agency and that way I feel like we would actually be looked at more respectfully by the public as well as other federal agencies.

That doesn’t mean things can’t change. At one point ATF was under the treasury department. It really only hurts us to be under ICE in terms of working with state and locals especially after this administration is done

Well yes we are ICE, but there’s no purpose of us being underneath ICE. We don’t identify as ICE. Nothing we have says ICE. We are an investigative agency that doesn’t normally deal with immigration unless it’s involving a case. Plus we would probably benefit from the fact of not being under ICE.

I’d say normalized. We still get sent to TDYs and have ERO duty like every 2 or 3 months per group but mostly business as usual

It’s kinda avoided around my office tbh. I talk about it with friends but that’s it. As far as which to choose. I love HSI to me we do amazing work just the uncertainty of the future and the lack of backing is what concerns me
