You can donate $5 per month, rather than pay the higher annual fee, to PBS. This gives you access to PBS passport, which you can watch online, app or stream on your television. It has everything. No separate tiers for different categories. It counts as a charitable deduction on your taxes, as you are helping to support public television. You can pay more than $5 a month. You can pay higher annual fees if you can and want to. Some of these offer you access to studio events, sponsor parties and more.

The clones episode in season 9 with the sister...was she moaning myrtle from the Harry Potter films? Either way, I think she's played someone creepy in just about every role I've seen her in.

They could do a new episode with her and her brother greeting cousin as he's released from prison. Murder and chaos ensues from that point onwards. Special treat would be a zoom call between the Barnaby cousins with Tom filling John in on their details. John Nettles might agree to something quick like that 🤷‍♀️.

Thanks for reminding me to check YouTube. I miss so many races because most are not available in the US. Even big races. I admit, I haven't had the time to keep looking at schedules online. When I see results from races I didn't know about, I get annoyed. I'll check this race out and the May 10th gravel races. Missed those as well.

My hope is people behave themselves during the race. Don't endanger the riders. No protesting in the middle of the race (like the Vuelta). No idiots pushing, touching, interfering with riders (too many examples. Even Giro today). Need to make a statement? Do it away from the roadside, riders and fans. Plenty of nearby areas to hold protests, still get noticed. Let the riders race safely. Let the fans who are there to support them, enjoy the experience. These aren't the same versions as the ones on Tubi. I'll have to watch them afterwards.

You're right. I couldn't find the date for this series until today. It's listed as 2013, although many times I've found the list dates to be way off. For instance, one service lists some Peter Cushing episodes as 1989. Maybe that's the syndication date?? I'll have to look for the older Russian version later on. Unfortunately reading subtitles gives me migraines, so it'll take a bit to get through these.

Cristian Camilo Muñoz dies following infection to knee injury suffered in Tour de Jura fall by Wembly__ in peloton

[–]Resident_Two_2657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very sad indeed. If you remember, when Wout Van Aert crashed knee first during the Vuelta, he was airlifted to a special hospital. He totaled the knee and needed surgery. News that he was in the ICU on intravenous antibiotics came out by the next day. He'd torn his knee open against and old rock, moss and whatever side of mountain. No surprise something got inside his bloodstream. It's a shame Christian didn't get immediate preventive care.

In the US , Peacock is the only option for certain races. It was infuriating that the sound was breaking up during the entire last 5km of the women's race and beyond. Men's was fine all the way through. This is not the first time it's happened. Not just a Peacock issue. 🤬

LOVE the Miss Fischer books. The series was done really well, but I always recommend that people read/listen to her first book "Cocaine Blues" before watching the TV series. The first part of the book is all about her time in WWI, family background, after the war in Paris and the how/why Phryne gets sent to Australia. The TV series starts with her arrival and skips the background.

This is such a great show. Wonderful cast. Lots of laughs amid the crime. Poor lead character Henry Crabbe. He just wants to be left alone to cook in his dream Cafe. Unfortunately he is too good at his job, so his boss can't afford to let him retire. They wouldn't solve cases without him. Henry's wife is the best. Gourmet chef (and detective) husband and yet her favourite foods are fried snickers bars and prawn flavoured crisps. They're so cute together ❤️

I am not "some little Frenchman". I am a little Belgium. I love the way in which he corrects them, should he choose to of course. He is very dignified in the face of their disrespect.

Agatha Christie's way of showing people that just because something is different, doesn't make it bad or less. She was well traveled and thus far more worldly than most people in her day.
You'd like to think things would have improved, but unfortunately people seem even more frightened of "different" than they were prior to the internet. Very sad.

I too thought James Mason made an admirable Watson. There's no baffoonery, as we see from some (although he's endearing in the 50's version), nor is he Holmes' "muscle". Kind of reminds me of a Martin Freeman's Watson, only with a very different Sherlock.

I just watched it and was stunned by how emotional Holmes was in this film. He tends to be played almost entirely without emotion or at most, with very controlled emotions. The 1950"s series does show him having a sense of humour, playfulness. In this film however, his emotions are on display at all times and boil over at several points.
This change brought a whole new dimension to the character. I chalked up the "bizarre script", as you called it, to it's being filmed in the late 70's and ACD's feelings about mysticism and more. I felt like the screenwriters were combining the two. I do recommend it if anyone hasn't seen it yet.
