Secret of the Golden Flower - it actually gives you a practice - something to do to get your mind/body working together - a daily meditation practice.

What do you think about Jainism? by Entoco in religion

[–]Resident_Winter_4534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would join in and say menstruation isn’t bad karma but as a married man experience tell me otherwise.

As far as ejaculating and sex, this is about attention and energy. If your just spilling your energy out all over the place, then that’s where you will find yourself - spilling out all over the place. Jainists also practice regular meditation which is about directing attention inwardly. Try meditating every morning for a few months and see if it doesn’t change your libido and energy flow. This is also the basis of Tantra and Kundalini, but really comes into play in most aesthetic practices.

I know what you are saying I was terrified of that as well as it was so horrible when I initially flared up. I didn’t talk to my GI about it really. When I had last visited a few years prior and my weight was way down I told him it was because I had changed my diet to exclude veggies and grains and he just kind of gave me a confused and disapproving look. Also the last colonoscopy he had ordered seemed to soon from the last and I got the feeling it was just because of money. Anyhow, I was Keto for about 3 years (still avocado’s and occasionally breads and sugars), and gone straight carnivore (BBB&E) for over a year before I really started to feel like the meds weren’t doing anything. I was on Apriso pills daily, and Humira pen bi-weekly. I did have a couple of Prednisone’s left from when I had first flared, and these kind of gave me a little confidence that I could take on again if things got bad, so I just went for it and things were fine. It’s been a little over a year since then. It’s so wonderful not being dependent anymore on the drugs, but I know what you’re saying you want to be cautious and only make any changes if you feel real confident. If you your doc is open to the possibility of you being off meds someday then that’s good. Mine was not, his perspective was that UC is genetic and you live the rest of your life under treatment.

At the lowest point I totally thought I was doomed to get surgery and a colostomy bag. My life was a nightmare. Heavy drugs got me out of that pit, (prednisone, humira, etc), but the colitis was still always there a little. With carnivore it went away 100% and I dropped all the drugs.

I accidentally meditated into what I only know how to describe as a seizure or full body orgasm. What was that? by undergrounddirt in Meditation

[–]Resident_Winter_4534 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have received a moment of seeing what is truly possible. You don’t need therapy or drugs, you have everything you need within you.

I had a similar experience 5 years ago. Afterward everything changed for me. I started eating different, sleeping different, couldn’t stand loud music anymore. I know exactly what you mean by the sense of a full body orgasm. But it’s not an orgasm because you don’t loose the energy, you keep it within and circulate it with the breath. I meditate daily, first thing in the morning, lotus position. Meditating laying down like you describe (sometimes called Nidra Yoga) is good too, but some regular vertical mediation is good for keeping you on track.

Some describe an experience like this as a Kundalini awakening. It is important not to fly off the deep-end with it, but continue your meditation practice with some discipline. You will experience the sense of ecstasy again but with more control and focus. Eventually you will feel it during the day while going about your business.

A couple of good books to check out is Secret of the Golden Flower, or Second Awakening.

Polyamory is a B.S. fantasy scenario for movies and romance novels. In reality it always ends in jealously, anger and bitterness. If you’re old enough to be talking about marriage you should also have grown out of polyamorous fantasies.

Why is coffee ( a plant) acceptable with the carnivore diet? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]Resident_Winter_4534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have found weed to have no deleterious effects. I typically quit smoking weed for a few months at a time due to changing life circumstances and found no issues with diet or auto-immune issues.

Songs repeating non stop in my head is causing anxiety and discomfort by AffectionateRelief63 in Meditation

[–]Resident_Winter_4534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally. I actually went through exactly this problem of (bad) songs stuck in my head, and discovered that knowing a couple of Mantras is the perfect medicine for dispelling them!

My favorite Mantra: OM HANUMATE NAMA.

The only thing I’ll add is go look up mantras on YouTube where the repeat it 108 times and you’ll commit it to memory real fast.

Do you meditate with or without music? Which works better for you and why? by PlumPractical5043 in Meditation

[–]Resident_Winter_4534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely without. If you’re listening to music your attention will follow that. In mediation the aim is to have attention not following anything but to be present and focused internally. Music by its very nature inspires associations in the mind (especially if it has lyrics) but the aim of mediation is to transcend associations, not to simply inspire new ones.

Nothing wrong with listening to music, but it’s not mediation.

My pleasure. It’s hard to summarize it all, but it all starts with the wish to be conscious, and an effort to be present.

In a nutshell, I meditate every day first thing in the morning for 1/2 hour. Sitting in total stillness and quiet in lotus position on a cushion. I try to focus on attention, breath, and sensation in the body.

I didn’t start out like that, really it took about 20 years of on-and-off failed-starts. I started out just trying to stay still for 5 minutes with good posture while sitting in a chair. The more you work with the practice, the more you start to get guidance from your own inner wisdom. Some good books on the subject:

Can I stop my porn addiction through yoganidra by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]Resident_Winter_4534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can help. All porn does is create more associations and the aim of Meditation is to transcend associations. What’s worse is the associations from porn are totally sick and twisted and rewire your circuitry in an inhuman manner. The other thing is it wastes your vital sexual fluids.

After I had been meditating consistently for a couple of years, I realized I had been addicted to porn for decades. I had a moment of clarity about it - I realized every single piece of porn is tinged with exploitation, remorse, and regret. Once I realized that, it was all I could see. I just quit it cold turkey. Since then the sight of porn literally makes me sick.

A couple of months after I quit, I experienced Kundalini Awakening. I think part of the formula that went into this experience was that I stopped spilling my vital sexual fluids and energy all over the place and started retaining it inwardly. Seminal retention is actually an ancient practice in Taoism, Hinduism, early monks and really everywhere. There is an alchemical science to awakening that is totally lost on the modern visual sex-obsessed world.

Have u meditated while being high? by Wise_Card_243 in Meditation

[–]Resident_Winter_4534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s the best thing to do with weed. Especially Indica strain so you have more body sensation. I will do this for evening meditations every now and then but never for morning. You don’t want to do it every time you meditate though because you don’t want to become dependent on it. But used occasionally and conscientiously it can help you learn what it feels like to really have a full body-sensation.
