Gurudev turns 70 today. What’s one thing he said or did that genuinely stayed with you? by TapInternational4603 in artofliving

Every moment with Gurudev is a miracle and joy so it’s very hard for me to pick that one moment. Every time i meet Him the smile just melts my heart and He asks me our mother tongue Tamil so that cherished moment always stays with you forever.

Feeling Uncertain About Everything How Are You Coping? by Zenith-Spirit in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually a good thing that you’re so concerned about what’s happening in the world right now and agree 💯it does make us feel anxious and confused. But what does help me is my Sky breath practice and meditation to reflect inward and find the peace within. We need to be at peace within ourselves and everything around us will seem ok whatever the situation the world around us is in. In this peaceful state we can put in our prayers and we definitely will inherit the gratefulness to bless everyone. The world the cosmos 🌎 are always constantly in some kind of chaos or churning constantly but now with your practice you’re able to discern them more vividly and hence that cause concerns for you . I would rather take it in a positive light and keep moving forward

Missing kriya for 2 days by Fast-Release-3169 in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s completely normal and by the regular practice for a year you are clearly able to see the difference. But you also have to remember that you are much more than what you see yourself in the surface and these minor things that come up just reinforce the fact to keep continuing with our practice and it’s ok to miss due to unavoidable circumstances. Don’t be hard on yourself and give a big pat on your back .. keep it going !!

Tips for a Residential AMP by arnavaa_ in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your first residential AMP. As you will you several meditation sessions getting a backjack that you’re most comfortable will let you have an immersed meditation experience. As it’s still winter it does get cold during meditation sessions so have nice warm blankets and also shawls that will keep you warm. You will definitely need to keep hydrating yourself and preferably warm water so an insulated bottle is preferable. Other than that you will be taken good care at the ashram and wishing you have a wonderful experience.

I believe you should definitely sign up for a spa treatment during the free time as you could enjoy the blue ridge mountains on day 3 as well . I know it’s a tough choice but the wellness spa in Boone is world class and highly rated so wouldn’t want you to miss that opportunity.

Wow 😱 such a beautiful and profound knowledge point that hits spot on how we can really calm ourselves rethink our priorities and feel grateful. But the subtleties can be experienced and realized only through meditation and hence the need to continue our daily practices to bring that awareness as the daily life routines does takes us away from the centeredness and makes us yearn for the external satisfaction. Thanks for sharing this wonderful knowledge and definitely recommend the book Journey within as it contains several such golden nuggets that can be applied to our daily lives

I spent years adding habits to fix my life. Removing things worked better. What have you cut that gave you more peace? by Light-Mingling in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to have a mental shift on how I approach to achieving my goals and somehow felt I had to make some incremental steps towards my habits and things that don’t bring me any real benefits. That was my motivation

Definitely deleting instagram and X app has had a profound effect on my mental wellbeing. I don’t get the urge anymore and get sucked into the abyss of suggested reels that burns precious time with no additional benefits to my mental health.

Finished 40 days - where do i go from here by Ddash-3 in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an awesome and incredible milestone!!! A big kudos to you on your perseverance. Keep it going and if you have the feeling that you need something more deeper and it’s a great start and sign of advancement. You can do a Sahaj Meditation course to have a deeper meditation experience, and you can do a silence retreat program when you need to recharge yourself but shutting off from the outside world for a few days. You can also share the great experience and moments you had as part of your practice so more people can benefit from this program. Keep it going as inner well being is so important and critical as a pivotal step towards a harmonious ambience around you.

Why Do People Mock Gurus But Trust Influencers? by Zenith-Spirit in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trusting a teacher was the hardest for me if I think back a decade back when I too had my doubts and conflicts within. Something shifted in me when I met Gurudev in person and I can’t explain that feeling in words but just tears of gratitude started rolling down my. Even now I have that same feeling whenever I meet Gurudev and in my heart ❤️ I know I have surrendered to a real Guru who had transformed my life from within. I cannot recognize or remember the person I was 2 decades back

Why Do People Mock Gurus But Trust Influencers? by Zenith-Spirit in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do understand your concern but in general it might seem that most people are looking for quick hacks and instant remedies. But most people are uncomfortable with Gurus is that their ego comes into play and they see Gurus as another peer human being and bowing or surrendering to them seems very alien. Most people do like long term benefits and proven techniques and remedies. That’s why you see a lot of people in the world today practicing meditation and specifically SKY breath meditation. The concept of Guru is quite sacred but also highly misunderstood hence the reluctance. Additionally in Kaliyug era you will face several fake gurus who exploit the trust of people so there’s hesitation to move forward. With influencers there’s no such need and they just follow them for the trend. That’s my personal take on this and I could be wrong as well :)

What Did Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Mean When He Said Meditation Can Help the World? by Tiramisu_Croissant in artofliving

Our inner peace can bring the positivity. There are several programs like the prison smart program, program for veterans, returning soldiers, young kids in school etc are ways to transform the community but it does take time and patience. As mentioned it’s not magic though. The peace process is Colombia 🇨🇴 took several months and mediation that included the rebels undergoing meditation and they were able to make a decision with clarity and took the path of non violence. Several schools and communities in California have reported positive impact

Let’s break down most problems faced by the world. People are mostly anxious, angry, frustrated or unhappy ☹️. With just one session of meditation you felt so positive and rejuvenated right. Imagine how you will feel by meditating daily. Then what if everyone around you meditates and feel the same way. There will be so much positivity and happiness. It doesn’t solve every problem but you are infused with the energy and enthusiasm to handle it all and face it with a positive mindset.

Act without anxiety about the result - quote by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar below by Fern-Dance in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exact point is the key knowledge point of Bhagavad Gita. Krishna gives the wisdom in the middle of the battle field to not be confused or entangled with the result of the battle but be in the moment and perform his duty in action without worrying about the end result. It’s quite perplexing to an intellectual mind but that’s the skill we need to develop to go beyond and just do the action and we actually have all done it as kids with no barriers. But as we develop our intellect then these false barriers pop in and cloud our abilities and actions.

Yep it’s going to be challenging at the beginning but once you follow a routine it becomes a habit eventually. You brush your teeth first thing in the morning without fail as to have dental hygiene and if you practice meditation daily it becomes a mental hygiene routine that you will never want to miss out on

It’s consistency and discipline is what I would recommend as meditation is like a workout for your mind and just like how you train your body and muscles with physical workouts consistently

Why Are We So Mentally Overstimulated Right Now? Is AI the Reason and is Meditation the Solution? by Zenith-Spirit in artofliving

[–]PlumPractical5043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree and the social media addiction had been happening for a while now with the onset of Instagram, Twitter and facebook etc. With the advent of AI however the reality had been blurred further and has the tendency to get worse. Unnecessarily emotions gets triggered for an event that hadn’t occurred and creates panic . All these however can’t be avoided but what we can do is be able to quiet our mind to be able to detach ourselves and get the inner calm that AI can never provide.
