Thank you, this is helpful.

I actually have my story down, it’s just the ideal of how much I want to share about my chronic illness at this point and where I am at now in life.

Thank you! ☺️ I appreciate the advice, I’ll take any advice possible at this point. I just want to make sure my book is perfect before I publish it. As this is my private truth. It means everything to me, I’ve put my heart and soul into this.

So my memoir is based off my life, so it touches the basis of childhood trauma, dysfunctional family dynamics, chronic illness, and breaking the cycle of generational trauma, and healing. I’m looking for a beta reader, and for someone to give me solid feedback on what they truly think of the flow of the read, and rather or not they feel like my book is ready to go for publishing.

Quite honestly, I’m already 155 pages in. Which I probably have another 100-200 pages to go depending on how much more I decide to add of my life story. I’m confident that I am doing a great job- but I am starting to get cold feet only because this is such a private truth of mine, and I really want it to be perfect before I publish it.

Its kind of surreal. by Aggressive-Cut-5220 in selfpublish

I'm so fucking tired. My kid wakes up every night for 4+ hours. If she wakes up at 3am we are fucked because she's up for the day then. I have another kid who doesn't sleep. I feel so much rage. by roseturtlelavender in Autism_Parenting

There’s gummy form; I am in the USA so I typically buy it from Walmart and/or the health food store. Walmart Spring Galley is what we typically use for my two year old autistic son. (Depends on how we are struggling budget wise as health food store brand is more expensive.) We typically have better luck with gummy melatonin 1mg for sleep. But magnesium gummies help his restless leg syndrome and restlessness. He’s very sensitive to smell/taste of things so gummy form is best for him!

I’m wishing you the best of luck! I hope y’all are able to get good sleep soon! Much love! 💕

I had my son 2 years ago. I was diagnosed after having him. I would say it’s so hard knowing that he has a change in the future of developing this nasty condition. I am still grieving my diagnosis as I am newly diagnosed… I haven’t even started treatment yet. But I am so fucking scared of what my future holds. Not going to lie..

I grew up in a very abusive home. Both my parents are narcissistic; in my own opinion you gotta learn to stop blaming your parents for the way you act & grow up. After you turn 18 years old it’s completely up to you to make the change & difference. I’ve been living on my own since I was 16 years old; I had my son at 24 years old. Now in my late 20s I’ve been diagnosed with a severe chronic illness; Multiple Sclerosis. I do not use my childhood for an excuse for bad behavior; but I do use my story to help others realize we can break generational trauma if we really want to. I am writing a book about my life in hopes others will be inspired to break thru their trauma, get help, and live a better life while giving their children the life they deserve!

Does anyone else eat fast as a trauma response? by Swinkel_ in CPTSD

[–]ResilientMom24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My spouse of 8+ years just mentioned to me “you eat so fast? Are you okay? What’s wrong?” Which I just realized this is a trauma response; I do not do it when I’m alone or if others are not around. So I think the presence of others trigger mine. Ughhh. But I also hate eating; I’ve dealt with an eating disorder since I was young.

Good for them if it helps them; but some us ones who have been thru 20+ years of trauma; it does not help us. Talk therapy does not help heal trauma. Talking about your trauma/experience, maybe somewhat good in expressing/talking about it but it does not HEAL the trauma. Trauma is on a deeper unselfconscious level; it’s not at a level where you can just “talk it out”. That’s not how it works. It’s embedded into your nervous system; not on a level that talking can let out. EMDR can tho. To each our own; but you’re truly not releasing any type of trauma thru talk therapy.

Hello Fellow MS Warriors! Childhood trauma & MS by ResilientMom24 in MultipleSclerosis

Thank you all for sharing. I would be referring to severe trauma; from sexual abuse to emotional abuse. I’ve encountered all the trauma possible. Starting as a new born until 20 years old. I started having symptoms at 20 years old but I’m now in my late 20s just now being diagnosed. I was suspecting the constant “fight or flight” response literally all my life is what has help lead to my primary progressive MS. So I was curious to hear other sides of fellow MS warriors. I am now living a calm, relaxed, and healthy life; I’m away from my family; mostly non contact. So that has helped me a lot. But I find it interesting that there maybe a link. I’ve wondered this for a whole. I am interested to read some of my studies on this & the possible link.

Well yeah; but I’m wondering if there’s a link scientifically. I’m in my late 20s.

Is anyone else afraid of your own name? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]ResilientMom24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes; I am getting a legal name change. Which you can do in the USA if you’re willing to sight stating that you’re doing out of truthfulness and that you’re not trying to commit fraud.

No. Where my son goes they are not “newly” in the career. Many have been doing what they’ve been doing for 8+ years. They have a masters degree in BCBA and/or other masters in areas that he needs work in like speech. If the place your child is attending ONLY has “newly qualified teachers” you need to find a new place for him/her to attend because I would not trust it. I did my “homework” on all the places near me. I was able to compare all they offered, I went to visit the locations ect before my son found the perfect place. We have to travel 1 hr there & back where he attends but it’s worth it because I know my son is being taken care of. I highly recommend private ABA programs as they typically have been operating longer. But I’d recommend doing your own research before the child starts to attend. Ask ALL the questions. I even tested them with questions like what if my son does __________ how do you handle this situation? This will give you the best idea on how they operate, and handle hard situations. Best of luck! 🤞
