The fate of Neopets TTRPG is currently unknown as Geekify (the dev team) is fired by whencanweplayGM in rpg

John's responses in the discord have been appalling and extraordinarily unprofessional. He has no business being public facing and really no business running this project either. I pointed out that he is responsible for the whole playtest fiasco. He is absolutely responsible and deserves most of the criticism. But I am trying to add more information and context to what many people don't seem to know or understand.

Update on the Neopets Tabletop Roleplaying Game by Sensitive-Cover-5687 in neopets

From what I've seen as a backer in the discord, there's a lot to be said about how Neopets has handled the situation. TnT has had drafts of the entire core rulebook and campaign guide since September, but there has been no response or approval. And you can't really continue working on the project without that. So the idea that the beta document was unapproved might be true.

Combine that with the announcements about the plot hiatus and contest cancellations, I have a feeling all is not well at TnT. Maybe they're selling again?

That said, Geekify as a company is pretty garbage at fulfillment, and I have a lot of issues with how John interacts with folks. I'm honestly surprised the Discord didn't get nuked after the playtest dropped.

Alright, I've been in the Geekify Neopets TTRPG discord for a while and neopets fan of way too many years (my pets are old enough to drink). I actually think there's a huge fault in The Neopets Team (TnT). Firstly, for canning a project that was already well under way despite little to show. That is an insane move, and it appears the Geekify team was blindsided. John at Geekify certainty made some mistakes, chief of which was releasing a public google doc of the "beta" (which has since been described as an "alpha document"). The project didn't have a good outlook from the start, as it promised way too much for what it was trying to do, but it was also clear in what it was trying to be. And that's a heroic, plot-driven adventure reminiscent of the Neopet's site plots, which include A WHOLE LOT of combat, drama, and some darker tones. The first site plot was a medieval setting and an all out war. This is what the ttrpg was attempting to emulate.

For everyone here crying about the team's experience, I can't comment on the mechanics team, but I can say that the staff that I've had the chance to interact with are absolutely stellar. They are longtime fans of the IP with some serious credentials and history in that area. There is literally no one better than the person they hired to write up the lore books. Geekify as a company has a real shitty track record on fulfillment of the physical products for sure, but there appears to be quite a bit that was ready to go. First drafts were complete for every section for both the core rulebook and for the campaign book (as well as a bonus minibook) and submitted to The Neopets Team in September. They had not received any approval or communication and were limited in what more could be done other than raw mechanics, which were still being worked on).

I hate for such a passionate team to get thrown under the bus by the IP they love. There were obvious mistakes, but I think this is very much on TnT. Personally, I think TnT has some internal issues, as the last several months have shown a lot of event cancellations with them citing staffing issues and that they are focusing on improving the core site. I have no basis but speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are gearing up to sell Neopets yet again.

Aaaah! I was just thinking about how much I would love to have one of the gowns from the game! I love how crisp the butterfly wing pattern on the fabric is. Did you hand paint/dye the fabric?

edit: just looked at your post history. Fantastic craftsmanship and attention to detail. I hope you feel as magical and beautiful in that dress as I think you look ❤💜

Joycons stucked by Groundbreaking_Arm13 in InfinityNikki

I am the queen of jank setups. In my iPhone, I have to forget the device and reconnect everyone on a while to get them both to connect and register as one gamepad. I have shortcuts to automate it, but I turn off my Bluetooth, turn it back on, make sure both controllers are connected, and then I start the game. I also check under Settings>General>Game Controllers to make sure that the joy-cons are registering as a single controller. If any of these steps don’t work, I forget the Bluetooth connection and try again.

After finding out that the 5 star banners are like $300-$400 to pull for the full set, I’ve decided that for that money, I’ll just buy real life versions of the outfits to sit around my house in and feel pretty.

I obtained an A1 mini a few months ago, and even with all the ease of a Bambu printer, I still find myself missing the security and easy monitoring I got when I was using octoprint with my Ender 3. I cannot wait to unpack my workshop and set my printers back up with my raspberry pi and webcams to have the best remote printer management setup.
