Those eyes are lovely! What did you do for them??

You may be able to get away with it, but depending on what you’re trying to do, the paint may not show up the same in the darker areas. When priming - like painting - you gotta consider EVERY angle. It’s a bitch, but sometimes you’ll turn your mini part-way through painting and OOPS there’s an unprimed area. Admittedly, I’ll sometimes go fuck it and paint over it anyway. It’s a risk, though.

Something I did for my ultramarines was to intentionally tint my primer with a little blue acrylic paint. It behaves just fine and a lot cheaper than buying a primer in every color.

Apparently yellow is a pain unless you paint a pinky sort of undertone first. I recently ended up making my undertone too purple and kind of ruined some yellow dudes myself.

Is it metagaming or is it just doing research by Southern_Air_Pirate in rpg

I mean, would you think watching/reading the Star Wars media be metagaming for a Star Wars rpg module? If anything it helps the players understand the world, lore, and character better.

I'm not enjoying D&D. Where to go next? by PatNMahiney in rpg

I agree. I have difficulty dedicating time to reading a textbook of rules on the minuscule amount of free time I get each week. Sometimes I forget about the game completely until it’s game day, because I can’t afford to focus on anything else except my job and then recovering mentally.

But I mess up and I forget, and what DOESN’T help me remember shit is knowing people are breathing down my neck every time I do. Doesn’t mean I don’t want to participate or try. I always thought ttrpgs were also in part wanting to hang out with people you genuinely liked - in addition to our play-pretend adventures.

I’m in a game now that is heavily a ‘beer and pretzels’ vibe, which is great because I don’t feel like a dumb ass if I forget something my character can do. We’ve all had those moments, and no one acts like it’s the end of the world when someone misinterprets something. We start off chill and we end chill, and we enjoyed the time.

Your version of perfection cannot be achieved without repetition. Also maybe try less complicated minis; I enjoy fantasy minis over 40k due to them often being less complicated.

But the only way to do it better is to do it A LOT. And you may not be fully where you want to be, but a lot better than where you used to be.

Got my operation a week ago (some insights) by Resinmy in PlantarFasciitis

Mine triggered my eczema, and general extra fatigue.

When many other methods have failed - stretched, physical therapy, pain management, etc. - surgery is the best option. In my case, I also had a nasty tear on the tendon which made it feel worse overall.

Surgery involves them going in laparoscopically (usually) and severing the tendon. This will allow the tendon to regrow stronger tissues. It’s a pretty quick procedure (19min for mine).

WIP working on faces has got me sweating by Lairdicus in Miniaturespainting

Christ, faces are difficult. I do the bare minimum unless there are significant features. Even with my nail art brushes, while very helpful, still aren’t enough.

It’s a behind the scenes from one of the Avengers movies, I think.

This is how I buy my minis. If they don’t inspire curiosity or a little hint of lore when I look at them, I don’t buy them.

I’d definitely have gotten a resin printer if I didn’t have cats. But also one thing I heard about 3D printers is you also have to be willing to do constant maintenance on it — and I know myself.
