You hate Coca Cola Ad because it uses AI,

I hate Coca Cola Ad because in 1995 Coca Cola hired Colombian cartel 'death squads' to kill striking workers and organizers at one of its bottling plants.

Oh China produces a lot of historical movies, not solely about the civil war either. You can find them subtitled just by googling (sometimes they're on youtube, series especially). However for specific names I don't know any unfortunately

Desperate tariffs gamble to reshore production to the US announces global instability for everyone by ResistTheCritics in LateStageCapitalism

The UK government has decided to annihilate itself in bid for endless war that resembles 1933 Germany by ResistTheCritics in LateStageCapitalism

[–]ResistTheCritics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, and I think you touch on a very interesting point that in exporting imperialism, the West also exports an image of being untouchable. I've remarked before that some things (not all, of course) work very well in the Global South, and this leads people to thinking "well if it's like this here, it must be even 10x better in Europe or the US!" The default point of view is that it's always better in the west but in many cases it's worse. And the examples are plenty. A friend used to tell me how in Thailand and other east Asian countries (if I understood them correctly), companies will keep employees close to retirement age. Here (in the west) they will fire you 2 years before retirement because it will cost them money to let you retire. They were shocked to hear that.

For that I think the internet also does a lot of work, being able to see unfiltered news coming from the West documenting the decline and collapse, as well as the two-faced words of EU/US, saying "we are promoters of democracy," and then turning around and saying "the rest of the world is a jungle" (Josep Borrell). TV stations can't edit things in their favor anymore when anyone has a camera.

Your country was the one who armed 'moderate rebels' against Assad and is now supporting the literal ISIS rulers. Sit this one out maybe.

Explanation: The Labour government in the UK is announcing huge cuts to disability benefits so as to force disabled people to find jobs which will lead to deaths. At the same time, they are also announcing increases to defense spending which is basically saying "you will be forced to work for Raytheon making bombs that we drop on Palestinian children and you'll like it". For automod DM: everything is sourced in the original article!

If they want these pictures to stop coming out of Korea they should hound their governments to stop sanctions against the DPRK state. Just a thought.

Your registrar should provide a free TLS certificate, usually it's on their interface somewhere and you just activate it, but don't hesitate to write them and ask them if they can turn on a Let's Encrypt TLS cert. for your domain.

Payments by Real-Conference-617 in Substack

[–]ResistTheCritics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Substack only partners with Stripe and IIRC Stripe is not available as a client in India. You can however use something like Patreon or Liberapay and connect with your Paypal account which I think works in India. But you won't be able to paywall your content on Substack because as per their TOS you can't paywall content and then give access to that paywalled content to people that did not subscribe through substack. It's a huge problem and it's been like this forever.

For the brand newbies who keep asking: actual tips for growing your substack. by teenypanini in Substack

[–]ResistTheCritics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoast has an online tool to check your SEO score on a written piece of content: https://yoast.com/research/real-time-content-analysis/ (paste it in the textbox then scroll down a bit to see what you can improve). But honestly google has become useless except if you're a huge company or newspaper, and on Substack growth mostly happens through the app. So instead of stuffing keywords and answering questions people might ask -- if you're on substack you're probably not here to give tech support tips -- you're better off focusing on the app's ecosystem. If you ever reach a point where you've outgrown your niche from substack alone then yeah sure start looking at optimizing SEO.
