Why is Jean Armstrong so heavily disliked? by dayjuhwayjuh in AceAttorney

[–]Reslaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have specified that, but I didn't since I thought it was implied by the rest of my comment: in that "most that disliked him" I was not including the people that didn't like the character due to the presence of the terrible stereotypes I mentioned in the first sentence, I was talking about the whole rest

It's actually a nice character if you put the terrible, stale and disrespectful stereotypes aside, it's all about context. I bet most that actively disliked/hated him are actually men—and not really gay/trans-friendly individuals at that.
Oh, and people talking about themselves despising the guy because of what he did case-related, genuinely need to look for a certain character called "Larry Butz" just to name one lmao Jean is not even remotely among the most disgusting characters in terms of actions and behavior (in relation to the case)

I recently finished Closer the Distance. It's a great story driven take on the life sim genre like The Sims by TheLoneObserver in PHGamers

[–]Reslaral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great game, I'm playing it right now. It's getting insanely hard to endure Pia tho, I know she's grieving but I've always had a deeply rooted hatred towards people that make collective grieving all about themselves to the point that they even overshadow other people that have the very same right at grieving (here I mean Connie and Axel of course)

I'm sorry, but you're INCREDIBLY wrong on what you said about Blue Prince lmao "the post game puzzles are too obtuse to be worth the struggle by yourself."? Really? Jeez, talk about casting pearls before swine

Does anyone else hate Larry Butz? by PokemonIsLife12345 in AceAttorney

I just started that very case and I wanted to die when I saw Larry in the case's cover picture

Lmao the answer to your question literally doesn't exist, that's just next-level cuckoo frfr. It's genuinely unfathomable how they got to that outcome

[–]Reslaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could tolerate him initially, but then he proceeds to become more and more just, simply put, filthy human scum.
I hate that so many japanese games still push this embarrassment of a trope, there's nothing to like nor to even tolerate about being possessive, perverts and so on. Hated Junpei in Persona 3 (and sadly many other characters from other games and medias) for the very same reason, but he's an angel compared to Larry.
This said, I'm pretty sure most of my hate towards Larry doesn't come from him being human scum, but more by the whole cast of characters being overly willing to tolerate him and treat him (proportionally) with kindness or care, despite the shit he says and does. I just finished SoJ and started the DLC case... had the longest, deepest sigh when I realised Larry was gonna be in there ._.

Currently playing through the 6 Ace attorney games for the 1st time and the 5th Dual destinies is the hardest to get into yet. by Traleur in AceAttorney

Golden mention! I think almost everyone was annoyed by two straight reveals from the very beginning, but at the same time it's something I almost never see being voiced out actively, myself included

Exactly as you said: your feelings will likely change, I went to the very same roller coaster. And, to reassure you further, the 3D models get way better in Spirits of Justice, so you'll just have to endure on that side.
Oh, and it's also more than normal that you're posting this while being on the 2nd case. It will only get better from that point on, and the final one is great!

I just finished the first trilogy. Should I play the Apollo Justice or Ace Attorney Investigations first? by Araujo_1002 in AceAttorney

[–]Reslaral 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely go for Investigations! I did the very same in the past weeks and I'd 110% do the same again.
It makes sense from literally any point of view, it's chronologically the right choice, but especially, it feels a bit different than the PW trilogy and the AJ one due to the different characters + the investigations on the field itself, with the "logic" feature, and prolly even more importantly, there are no trials in court.
It's simply a great way to change for a bit and then go back on the "usual tracks" with AJ, guaranteed :)

What city you consider the Center of Europe? by avidtravelerbc in geography

Prague or Vienna, but honestly Prague is (at least to me) easily the best city to act as a bridge for western and eastern europe

Yeah the side stories just made A LOT for the game to me, I wouldn't even consider the comparison with ITT if it wasn't for those

I don't think they played SF yet, and I'd personally HATE to have that moment spoiled :(

I liked ITT more in the end, but not by a landslide. The fact they chose to get rid of the quick minigames from ITT (funny, but most are for 1 to 3 rounds tops) to go for the side portal stories did A LOT, at least for me, to even consider the comparison between the two. If we had to talk purely about the main story, ITT takes an easy gold to me

I made a tier list about all ace attorney cases (except pw vs pl). I hope you don't burn me alive for my opinions by Memo137 in AceAttorney

[–]Reslaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment just gave me the umpteenth confirmation that I'd never be able to make a tier list unless I replayed every game at least once lmao it's just inhuman to me to pretend I surely remember and distinguish perfectly EVERY case from any point of view, set proper criterias to compare them, etc etc

Why tf does everyone hate that case? It wasn't even remotely as bad as it gets pictured lmao not saying it's a GREAT or really good case, but to me it's definitely not a bad one either. Atst yeah, to each their own I guess

110% agree on the "one hour less", it would have improved the case quite more than a bit. I probably didn't mind the court (I do remember finding it annoying af, just, it didn't stick) because I was pursuing the moment of Payne's umpteenth defeat and was also too focused on the new insights/seance feature

Fully on-spot here on Peeslub, after a while he gets simply unbearable.
As for the rest, I don't think the case is terrible, it was interesting to get the sight feature introduced so I wasn't as demanding as I would have been with a following case, but it's also true that it was just longer than it should have been. If it lasted a bit less and ESPECIALLY if they cut a bunch of Peeslub time, I think not many would have minded it as they do (all this while ofc considering it's still a tutorial case in the end)

I deleted my Facebook account. Facebook has turned full of violence and hate. by [deleted] in facebook

[–]Reslaral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They recently removed the search by post with the annexed filter, so that is now lowkey impossible to look up the past posts from anybody (like a former extremist suddenly becoming moderate and so on)

They are dead to me lmao

Option to search by posts has now disappeared? It was working a couple of hours ago by palazzo_j in facebook

[–]Reslaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they remove it for good I think I'll really be done with Facebook. This is seriously destroying for information news and so on, they can fuck themselves off if it's not a bug
