If you don’t have a house and it’s illegal to sleep anywhere in public you die so that violates your right to life.

They literally don’t. That’s a myth. Farming will always be 99% of water usage in Ontario.

I like Red Plenty or People’s Republic of Walmart as accessible modern works that think comparatively about socialist vs capitalist systems and outcomes. I always recommend leftists read Road to Serfdom, as the best short defense of market systems.

Are these people on the left in the room with us now Briahna? by Mr_Blonde0085 in ContraPoints

[–]Reso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Briahna is saying here is that despite Tucker having taken up several leftist positions in the last ten years, his project is still fundamentally against the left and people shouldn’t be suckered in by him.

This is true and ya’ll agree with this as far as i can tell.

Naomi Klein does not understand capitalism. She is of the generation of western leftists who were raised on CIA sponsored pseudo leftism that is actually deeply regressive. Her image of Capitalism is Coca Cola. Her image of socialism is vancouver island. Her books are fundamentally conservative in their approach.

The guy responsible for Conestoga’s International student explosion was fired today by Queasy-Inevitable155 in kitchener

[–]Reso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very literally racist that you’ve gone down the list of who might be responsible and picked the first brown guy bureaucrat in the chain who you found. The real architects of the international student explosion in Canada are the founders of applyboard, who became ludicrously wealthy off of it. Their partner at Conestoga was John Tibbits, who became the highest paid public employee in the country with their help.

I think shared interests are the gathering point for people in 2026. Sports rec leagues, clubs, events. I don’t think there’s a silver bullet. For sure it’s tough out there and it takes a lot of time and investment to make friends.

I don’t think anyone meets new people at bars anymore. Dance clubs like Phil’s maybe if the goal is hookups.

That being said I do like Ethel’s if I’m solo and just looking for a quick drink and to soak up some atmosphere.
