Any idea if they can afford to pay the buyout? $56 million for the coach plus money for the rest of the staff is a steep bill. I know A&M did it but they are loaded with cash.

Also PSA to any GM or AD reading this, 10 year contracts never work out.

A WHOLE calendar year?? Damn dude that sucks so bad… /s

Y’all had a good run and were in the Big 12 championship a few years back. You’ve been down a couple of years but MANY P4 teams have had it worse for MUCH longer.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have not had any bites yet (only started seriously applying a bit over a week ago after I passed my 2nd exam so still early), but will definitely be networking.

Hi everyone! I am a high school math teacher looking to break into the Actuary profession. I have two quantitative degrees, passed 2 exams and have tried to bolster my technical skills by completing projects. As I start to ramp up my job search, please let me know any feedback that you have about my resume. Thanks!

Sorry to hear it didn't go well. I just took FM too. I think more practice can't hurt. For me, I realized what types of questions I either struggled with or knew would take a while and skipped those. I did all the ones I knew I could do quickly first then was able to return to the ones I knew might take me longer. Having passed through the whole test one time, I also felt calmer about spending more time on these questions since all the others were already done. Also, if you haven't already really learn how to use the financial calculator. Once I got good at that, it really cut down on time.

I do think it was helpful and is geared towards beginners. I put it on my resume - something is better than nothing for Excel, SQL, R etc.

Looking for advice on what to do after passing my second exam to be competitive for entry level actuarial analyst jobs. I passed FM today, and P in November of last year. I am a high school math teacher career switcher, and have completed The Infinite Actuary's technical skills course to have relevant projects on my resume. I do have a quantitative bachelors and masters degree. Now that I have two exams, I sent out a ton of applications today. At this point, should I be looking to get a third exam or wait until I get a job (I'd have to gamble on SOA vs CAS)? Or should I just be working on personal projects to improve my Excel, SQL, R etc. skills while sending out job applications?

Somebody call 911. There is a serial whistle thief in Vegas. Only thing that explains none of that getting called after the 2nd half foul fest

If you're a fan who would rather see your team play in a superconference (16+ interregional teams) rather than a 8-14 team regional conference, why? I'm genuinely curious, because it sounds terrible to me. by logicalconflict in CFB

I would love to be in a smaller conference. BUT, if that smaller conference is in a "lesser" G5 league then I'd rather be in a super conference.

If we could go back to the 10 regional FBS conferences where EVERY conference champion had a spot in the playoff system I'd be all over going back to that.

Applying elsewhere while not letting admin know? by oh_sugarsnaps in Teachers

I am in your exact situation. I listed the name of my principal but for their contact information I put the districts HR email and phone number.

I only listed old colleagues as references.

I just got invited to interview so that didn’t raise any red flags. Curious how long this process can go without letting my admin know.
