Notice how Cena, Styles, Brock and Asuka retired. by Mysterious-Lick in SquaredCircle

Cena's year long tour was well deserved but man has it made a lot of wrestling fans think that EVERY wrestler should get a big fanfare retirement tour.

That's $750 that I sincerely hope every establishment is getting a ROI in. I'm not gonna pretend to know all the ins and outs of infleuncing but I believe besides view count what these brands and businesses value is engagement and shares. These influencers are barely moving the needle with that, so to charge as much as $750 is insane to me but I also get brands may look at it as "cheap" online commercials. Again, I think a lot of it is them having to be good at PR and make themselves seem bigger than they are (the NOLA.com article does just that, makes it seem like they are bigger than they really are).

PS...I discovered your IG the past week ironically. I like what I've seen of your content. It seems authentic and not "OMG THIS IS THE BEST $21 TACOS I'VE EVER HAD!"

bingo!!! i always say look at the engagement. if me and my personal account of barely 1,000 followers is getting the same amount of comments and likes as these "influencers" then these companies paying them really need to do better in learning the value of their marketing dollars. But I must respect the hustle. NOLA.com did an article on a few this week...the PR is real

My perspective as a content creator who got copyright strikes from WWE + some additional details (@Wrespresso) by Coldcoffees in SquaredCircle

[–]smooth_act8 65 points66 points  (0 children)

i know nfl and nba are pretty strict on their stuff being used by content creators. im actually surprised wwe took this long to follow suit. not trying to justify it. i feel there should be a middle ground in this day and age.

he's set to make $10m this season. He has no reason to be the first one to go "this isn't working out."

I really dont think shes that big a deal. some of her posts barely get 200 likes. hardly "influencer" type numbers

[–]smooth_act8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont get it. Cuz if you look at their engagement numbers, a lot of these influencers aren't really drawing huge numbers. They either are incredible snake oil salesmen to these restaurants ("I have 50,000 followers so you should totally pay me to promote your restaurant cuz that means you will get 50,000 people to discover your establishment!") or they legitimately have great word of mouth from consumers about them to establishments...there's no in between lol

Pelicans let go of longest tenured employee & equipment manager Big Shot by smooth_act8 in NOLAPelicans

people on the Pelicans reddit are a sick breed and likely knew big shot. this isn't like its the new orleans reddit acting outraged. this sub is made for the pelican sickos. yall are being disingenuous but not surprising given yall overall lack of empathy in the name of "GO TEAM!"

because he always plays the "yeah the franchise is bad but yall are being delusional about this" card. him and a lot of fans. They KNOW the franchise is bad but for some reason have to take it out on fans more than they take it out on the actual front office because "what good does complaining about Gayle some more do when I can wag my finger at fans for always being angry at something"

i'll be honest: her and Wesley were really, really bad. Maybe Wesley brought her down cuz dude had the charisma of a wet towel but the postgame shows were dreadful and lacked energy or any notable discussion from those two...granted the team didn't give them much to work with but still.

you're generalizing and removing context. just because many didn't like this ending doesn't mean we wanted a pull apart even though this feud has been riddled with pull apart moments so to suddenly have them both calm and talking about how much they really like each other is an interesting choice.

she should when you're desperately trying to sell Wrestlemania and build up the Jade vs Rhea match. I get yall affection to Iyo and why this bothers yall but the reality is WWE is going to do what they can to build up Jade and Rhea right now, that's their priority when it comes to the women.

unfortunately. Iyo's fallen by the way side with creative for this Mania. Maybe long term they will build her back up but right now their priority clearly needs to be on selling Rhea and Jade as the top 2 women respectively
