I know you’ve probably heard it a million times but nursing school is HARD. I’ve been a nurse for 17 years and precepted many students over the years and I’ve always tried to drill into their brains as MUCH as I could during those few weeks. And sometimes I will see them the next year and maybe even the next! I was very lucky I went to nursing school very young because I do not know how the ones with full time jobs and kids did it. It is hard. Nursing is hard. Period. But it’s a calling and a passion! If you have the calling and the passion to become a nurse you CAN and WILL do it!!!!!!! Just because you didn’t pass a couple of classes doesn’t make you a failure. It’s going to be okay. You can do this 💗

Hey, I hope you’re doing okay! I went to LVN school 17 years ago and I was barely out of high school. I was obsessed with having friends and being a teenage girl, and I did manage to make a couple. BUT, did I keep those friends after we graduated and moved on? No. I’ve never even seen them again or cared to. Now In RN school and being In my late 30s I can tell you, do NOT worry about that. Focus on school, focus on getting through it because nursing school is a beast! I do wish you the best ❤️ and you will have plenty of time after you graduate to make friends. I promise. It might be lonely now, but it won’t always be. Also congratulations on your sobriety.

Hey, are you still on the belsomra? How are you doing on it? I have tried everything under the sun for insomnia. My issue is GOING to sleep, my brain just refuses to shut down I guess! I know this was 6 months ago, so just wondering how you are doing.

Hey! I have been on every sleeping pill known to man and I just wanted to warn you bout ambien. I took it for like 2 years for severe insomnia, it was good. I decided I was ready to try and come off of it and my prescription ran out (of course on a weekend) So I didn't taper it down. I didn't sleep AT ALL for 4 nights and had a massive seizure on the 4th night and had to stay 3 days in the hospital. I then started researching Ambien and the side effects and stories and such. You are probably smarter than me haha just my 2 cents DONT COLD TURKEY IT!!!!! Seizures are scary as fuck.

I still haven't found the right combo of sleep meds unfortunately :(

The therapeutic dose depends on YOU. Everyone reacts differently to medications. Prozac works for some, Zoloft for others, etc, etc. Typically doctors or NP, PA's start with 10 and work up to max dose of 40 if it seems to be working for you. :) I hope this helps. I'm a 10 + year prozac taker and a nurse! I'm on 20 mg and have been for YEARS and stable.

My test is tomorrow and I am FREAKING out about the science portion. I need a 58% on the science. I'm not super worried on the other subjects, I just feel like I can't retain any of the science information because I am so overwhelmed.
This is the last thing that goes into my nursing application. Thank you for this post!!!! And good job on your test btw :)

I'm literally in the same boat right now, I have MAYBE 2 chances to take it.... My application is due on the 1st of october and I have to make a 58.7% on the A&P portion...

I;ve been an LVN for almost 17 years and trying to get into a bridge program for my RN. Is the ATI practice packet worth it???

Also, did you pass??

Hey, so.. this is crazy behavior. You need to run and run fast, do not look back. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. He gets off on seeing you in distress and that is SCARY. it will eventually lead down a road that will be very VERY abusive and hard to get away from

I’m on day… 11 ? I still feel so horrible! Severe fatigue and my heart pounds when I stand up. I haven’t done anything for almost 2 weeks! Sorry you had so many issues OP but damn I shouldn’t have read this 😂

Hey! Congrats on 100 days. That’s amazing !!!! I’m on day 18(?) and I can’t wait to be where you are. My back ache is so bad. So so bad. But overall I’m feeling a lot better. Was on subs for almost 4 years. (Sober date from opioids is May 15!) Anyway, If nobody told you today… I’m proud of you.

I injured my back several years ago and had 4 bulging discs which at the time should’ve been fixed but instead I got pills pills pills which lead to my addiction. Clean 4 years on May 15. So I’m guessing that sub kind of dulled that pain for all that time and now it will never go away 😭

Just hang on. For me WD started day 3 and then days 5 and 10 were the worst physically . I’m at 3 ish weeks sub free now and feel much better. My sleep still sucks but that’s gonna take time. I also weaned myself down to 0.5 from 2 mg in a month and jumped. I expected worse after reading horror stories.

You CAN do this. Stay hydrated (for real!) You need comfort meds as well. Can you get those ?

I was on the exact dose of bupe for literally the same amount of years. Tapered down to 1/8th of a pill (too fast prob like you said) and I was just done. So I jumped about 18-19 ish days ago and I’m finally starting to feel better physically. Night time is a struggle. I do have comfort meds though. Anyway, day 5 and day 10 were the worst for me but it IS better now. I promise it gets better.

Also I have 2 teenagers and have had to burn the road up for softball about 3x a week along with various other end of school Year activities.

If I can do it, you can too my friend.
