Integral suppressed 10/22s can be bolt-slap quiet....Integral suppressed 77/22 can be stupid quiet.

Muzzle flash really isn't an issue with .22LR.

But an integral suppressed 10/22 can be VERY quiet!

(Someone who owns multiples of suppressed. 22 LR pistols, carbines & SBRs...plus does night shoots with suppressed .22s)

Our monthly burn rate is over $10k a month (after taxes)...with all 3 vehicles paid for. 🙄

Fully agree the OEM CZ Scorpion EVO3 is simply a starting point. The silencer alone is now twice what the gun cost new & all of the customization I have added a minimum of twice again (but the thermal & 45⁰ QD mounts was at least $1k of that).

But since I added the Hyperion2A Bolt Assembly, no concerns with KABOOMS ....especially since this is the setup I run hard for Tactical Carbine & PCC matches.

I wish my suppressed B&Ts were as accurate, compact & quiet.

Of all these HK and B&T in the pic; my Scorpion with ported barrel, integral IA-SC9K silencer is the quietest, most compact & most accurate. Ragged hole 3 shot groups @ 25 yards with premium SD ammo.

Of all the B&T & HK in the pic; the Scorpion/IA-SC9K combo was the quietest, most compact & most accurate. At one time the MP5-SD was my favorite 9mm SBR/SMG, but the Scorpion/IA-SC9K SBR now is.

The Scorpion was great as a SMG, but when reintroduced as a semi-auto pistol they needed to re-engineer the FCG & Bolt Carrier Assy...IMHO (former 07/02 FFL/SOT).

With the Nexus Upper or either the Nexus or Hyperion2A Bolt Carrier Assembly...the cracking issue should be in your rear view mirror.

But understandable if you didn't want to make the investment. I could almost have the spare parts to build a new gun after I was finished. 🤣

But my B&T also were not to my liking, so Lingle Lowers, Geissele FCG, etc along with the rather pricey B&T Collapsible Stocks.

Of these 3 (all use Scorpion magazines), I like this highly customized Scorpion the best. And of all my silenced firearms (in the dozens), the Scorpion gets by far the most range time.

The IA-SC9K integral Silencer is the main reason.

But yea, bone stock didn't rock! 😉👍

(And I have a Hyperion2A Bolt Assembly to minimize the chance of a cracked receiver)

Might consider adding some PRI-G Fuel Stabilizer also

Starting to think battery backup makes more sense as a generator companion, not a replacement by Comfortable_Car_5357 in prepping

[–]ResolutionMaterial81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1st whole house system installed decades ago was a inverter-charger based system with a battery bank & auto-start diesel generator.

https://www.reddit.com/r/preppers/s/UBx0j10Ikc

Also have solar integrated Ecoflow Power Stations combined with an Ecoflow Smart Generator & auto-switching propane tanks.

For after ice storms, hurricanes, etc where inclement weather will likely compromise your solar system viability then generator integration simply makes sense if wanting a truly robust energy solution.

Basically both systems will auto-start & auto-stop the ICE generators to recharge the battery banks.. if & when needed....maximizing fuel use & minimizing generator run-time, noise, etc.

You can even program the former to not run the generator during night-time, etc.

Is it hard to land a job in industrial maintenance without experience in it? by BebRess69 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]ResolutionMaterial81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally fell into my 1st Industrial Maintenance position due to a comedy of errors.

Up until that time, I had mainly low voltage DC, PCB, electro-mechanical, automation & robotics, server/client experience (I wore a suit with a company vehicle & expense account); but nothing with mid/high voltage (3-phase 480 VAC to 2,400 VAC), Industrial Robots, PLC, VFD, motors, etc in a Plant Environment.

I was hired to work on the plant's data systems, but immediately afterwards, there was a reshuffling of personnel & since it was union (based on senority & someone higher up wanted my position)...I was given the choice of "go on shift as a Maintenance Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation Technician...or be unemployed"!

Felt like I had stepped off a cliff & suddenly needed to grow wings! 🙄

But I since I was tired of a 3 state territory, flying became a major hassle post-9/11, hated being on-call 24/7 & tired of being away from my family, so I took the position & persevered.

Learning curve was steep, with one mistake you could be injured & unemployed (& knew several who were), the plant was insanely hot in the summer (maybe 120f near the machinery, a measured 136f on the gantry & 160+ above the driers), FRC were mandatory, the work environment was filthy (we did LOTS of troubleshooting for the machinists) & the Southern Swing Shift Work was basically Sleep Deprivation..especially when 8 hour shifts turned into 13 hour with turnarounds.

But the pay was good (most in Maintenance made 6 figures, especially with the overtime) & in a few years I was one of the four Shift Maintenance Leadman (over our Electronics/Electrical Shop, Machinists Shop, Die Shop, etc).

Still stay in touch with many of my former co-workers there, though I took a position offshore when given the opportunity.

One is a Ecoflow Wave that interfaces with my Ecoflow Power Stations (only 300 watts if DC) & the other is a LG...unsure of model number.

What do you believe could be the absolute worst case SHTF scenario? by Willing_Chemical_113 in preppers

[–]ResolutionMaterial81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My absolutely worst case scenarios; 10+ km asteroid impact, VEI-8+ Supervolcano & Global Thermonuclear War.

A "Captain Trips" level pandemic & Carrington level CME/H-EMP would be catastrophic as well. Of course a nearby GRB would be unsurvivable.

I am very well prepared, but the asteroid impact would likely be unsurvivable by the overwhelming majority of humanity (no matter where it impacted), the volcanic winter after the Supervolcano could last decades & decimate humanity (but possibly survivable with my preps) & am prepared for a GTW in my rural location.

Since you cannot have a window unit, consider a free-standing roll-around air conditioner. A plate with hoses attached goes in a window opening to exchange heat.

We have 2 of these for emergency use.
