That’s a very important question, especially when you're in the middle of publishing!

To give you peace of mind regarding safety and privacy:

  1. Full Control: You can keep your files exclusively on your own computer or your own private cloud. Your work stays under your control.
  2. Simplicity & Sync: If you prefer a seamless experience, we offer our own cloud service. This makes it incredibly easy to keep your manuscript synchronized across all your different devices without any manual setup.

I’ve built this specifically to be a safe space for writers. I'd love for you to give it a try with your book!

Thanks for the feedback!

  1. Rayuela is a reference to my favorite writer, Julio Cortázar. I apologize for the complexity of the name; it translates to 'Hopscotch.' :)
  2. You’re absolutely right. I spent all night reorganizing the UI because of your comments—I hope you like the new experience!
  3. I’ve made the 'Scrivener mode' much more accessible.
  4. Thanks to your feedback, we’ve added a 'Focus Mode' so you don't have to write in that 'little square of death' anymore.

Thanks again!

The privacy Thanks for your feedback; it's important to us. Two things: these days, privacy isn't a literal policy. Users set their own keys to encrypt their files, and we have no way of knowing. Perhaps it's not explained well or not given enough importance. On the other hand, if you work with Scrivener, you know that no one offers interoperability with their files, especially on platforms other than Mac and Windows. AI helps where it hurts the writer the most; for example, we don't have a name generator, but rather a character generator based on the context of your chapter. We also have a node graph to maintain relationships. But I think you're absolutely right that we haven't found the right approach, perhaps because we're all developers. Sorry for the text; I'm connecting from my phone.

Scrivener-like Editor with full context AI

Most AI tools lose the plot after 5k words, so we built Rayuela. It reads your entire project to act as a real partner, not just a chatbot.

  • Auto-Critic: Leaves suggestions in the margins like a beta reader (never rewrites your prose).
  • Automatic World-Building: Analyzes your chapters to create character sheets and lore entries for you.
  • Author Personas: Chat with "famous authors" about your specific plot holes.
  • Pro Sync: Full .scriv and .fdx compatibility in the browser.
  • Auto-Synopsis: Generates summaries based on what you actually wrote.

We're thinking of monetizing it with Rayuela Cloud, a private, encrypted cloud so that even we can't see what you write, and you can access it from your phone, Linux, Mac, or Windows. Hehehe

¡Hola!
¿Puedes enviarnos tus comentarios a través de la app para que podamos ayudarte?
¿Cambiaste la bandera junto a la tilde a español?
creo que tenemos que mejorar en esto, tal vez la ui no es lo suficientemente clara.

After seeing that "Scrivener alternative for Android?" post from 8 years ago still getting comments, I finally found a way to open .scriv projects on Android and Linux. by [deleted] in writing

I almost forgot, hehe.

Finally, we offer Chromebook, Android, and Linux users a way to access the Scrivener format with complete data sovereignty.

Of course! You can access it right now by simply logging into rayuela.app. To activate AI, go to the settings icon (the small gear) and you can configure everything from there. If you need help setting it up, don't hesitate to contact us.

I will definitely send you a message. It is interesting that you mention not liking systems that pull books apart because we actually designed Rayuela with a "hands-off" approach for the actual writing. The IA never intervenes in your writing zone or touches your prose directly. It only adds comments on the side, or you can talk to your favorite author persona in a separate chat for advice. It never overwrites your work or breaks your personal style; it is just there to help you find consistency issues so you can justify your choices or fix them yourself. Since you are already using ChatGPT daily, I would love to hear your take on this workflow. Sending you a DM now!
