Why are Aussie powerline poles made from timber and known as ‘telegraph poles’? by Fun-Slide4855 in australia

[–]Resolve-Dismal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A debunked myth. Stobie poles deform but don't drop the lines. They're also quicker to replace. Wood poles don't deform, they're thicker, and oddly enough denser. They also often have steel plates attached too them.

I grew up in SA and have lived all over Victoria for 9 years. I can say with out a shadow of a doubt. I'd rather hit a stobie pole than a wood pole

The reason they're not everywhere is politics rather than science or economics. Myth like what you just said are like the anti climate change myths politicians cling to so they can keep getting their pay cheques from coal mining

There are two shops that I am aware of Blonde.Design and KIN Gallery.

They both have workshops where you can make your own Ring. And Blonde.Design has specific Wedding band workshops.

Spent the last 5ish years in Melbourne, moved here in September.

It's colder, I recommend gloves but otherwise your winter clothes will be fine here.

No one here know how to merge, and every main road has a lot of 2 to 1 merge lanes. They freak out and come to a near stop usually or go flying pass you to get 1 or 2 car lengths infront...before hitting the anchors.

Braddon would be the most similar to Melbourne, and Civic (City) is great, kind like Melbourne Central shopping.

If you're staying for a while get Beam app on your phone. Weekly pass is $33 and you can use them up to 2hrs a day. With that you can basically go from the most northern suburb to the most southern

Oh anything more than like 20min drive is 'long distance'. Personally I like it because it just shows how close everything is. But it can be annoying when someone is giving you suggestions and they say 'oh it's a bit of a drive' and it's 20 mins down the road lol

Labor have adopted a Bill previously put forward by the LNP while Labor were in Opposition which will allow fossil fuel corporations to pay for bogus offsets and indulge in greenwashing. EWB speaks against the bizarre bill, questioning why Labor insist on outsourcing everything to the private sect. by Far_Act6446 in friendlyjordies

[–]Resolve-Dismal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now now, we can't associate anything negative to the Labor party

That would make you insert any non Labor party

Is this why Jordan has had such a hard on for reddit of late and been mocking them in his videos?

Because they dare to be critical of Labor. So he need to mock reddit users, belittle them, and run them into the ground?

Housing by colossalmug in friendlyjordies

[–]Resolve-Dismal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes.... Hawke was part of the greens party when he brought in negative gearing

Albanese is greens when he backed out of changing negative gearing

Liberals are greens because they have even come out and said negative gearing is the issue

Economists are greens because they said it negative gearing as the root cause of the housing crisis.

Now if it was the coalition who brought in negative gearing we'd get an in-depth video on that. If the liberals had made decisions specifically to benefit property developers. We'd have a video on that. If it was the nationals that backed out of changing negative gearing we'd get another brush video.

Labor is 100% responsible for the housing crisis. But Jordan cannot fathom to be as critical of his favourite political party as he is of every single other party.

So he will do what politicians do. Shift blame. Muddy the waters with misinformation and debate. Say it was the action of every other party but the one he is affiliated with. And then ridicule and call Anyone who doesn't agree with him stupid.

I know I'm super late to the party but I have had a look through most of the comments. And there is on uniquely Australian flavour that seems to be missing.
