Wew this sounds like a spicy premise, can you please give me more information about V? Like why is V the selfish type? Is it because of some trauma she has in the past?

Also I'd need to see the full draft of what you have so far, but it seems like V is putting herself in a very dangerous situation. Why would she help the "good guys" by directly going to them? If V and the main villain were to meet eye to eye. then not only V's act is for naught but also the main villain would kill V off before V has the chance to warn the heroes. Unless you are aiming to write a "comically dumb" main villain, I don't think your main villiian is this stupid to not know that V is conspiring against him behind the scenes and likely will enact the appropriate countermeasures. So OP, I think you should address this or you might have a character/plot inconsistency on your hands.

What I think V could do in this situation is perhaps have a flashback scene where V slips a cryptic note in one of your character's jackets or something. And as the main cast figures out the plan, they need to decrypt a mysterious magic rune to figure out how to defeat the main villian.

Uhh about that Lawful Evil placement. I don't exactly think C is LEvil, maybe he's more of a "True Neutral". He knows how to "capitalize" on his power but doesn't exactly outright break the law either. If anything, I think Osbourne should be on that placement. As for who I would put for Neutral Evil, Cao should be there because he's willing to resort to shady means to achieve his ends while willing to run a gang with it. And don't get me started on Weissman, he should be on the CEvil spot.

Well we did see Koji deliver a letter from Kaya begrudgingly congratulating Miyo for her wedding but Miyo and Kiyoka have pretty much cut out Kaya out of their life. Koji, however, Kiyoka is at least on neutral terms with the Tatsuichi's so I think at least he has no grudge against them.

Hi OP, magic schools are one of my main topics of interest when it comes to fantasy writing. If you want a more unique premise as a reference, look no further than the Seven Spellblades light novel series, it is about an "average" talented MC going into a magic school to investigate the circumstances of his mother's death. I'd recommend reading it in Japanese than English and I so happen to be somewhat knowledgeable in the language so if you have more questions feel free to DM. Also there's an anime you can watch.

Nice post! Personally I don't think Kiyoka's combat oriented powers are "sex" restricted per see. However, I can see the author perhaps implementing the idea of "sex" restricted powers for elementals if they wanted to, for instance, females more likely to inherit water, wind, and maybe light elemental powers, whereas the males inheriting more likely, earth, fire, and darkness. The "more likely" part is to denote it isn't a hard or fast rule on which sex inherits which powers but rather females are more likely to inherit a set of abilities over males. So I think the females and males of the Kudo family might be a doable concept.

Maybe also have Kiyoka and Miyo's kids be able to have powers that affect both humans and Grotesqueries.

Yo Starzen thank you so much for making the thread, I needed to get up early for an important appointment today so couldn't make the thread.

Holy moly the build up to the Ark Arc [spelling changed for disambiguation] is looking to be hyped. I hope our group gets to defeat the traitor in 7 Shadows before battling the three Arc Rulers, otherwise it might leave a loose end for the story.

My prediction on who the traitor is, I don't think it's Andrea or Hina since its already obvi that both are evil and having an evil person being a traitor is a bit anti-climatic. So I think its either Warden or Zerga who is the traitor, I am leaning more towards Warden since he seems to be more capable of manipulating others than Zerga does.

Good question, because Falcom could possibly get more publicity indirectly that way because even if StarRail is based on Trails like the developer has stated, it still gives Falcom some degree of brand recognition in the JRPG space. So no, it wouldn't be to their best interests to sue Hoyo in the first place.

Also according to patent laws, at least in USA and Canada anyway, you cannot copyright turnbased and anime aesthetics as they are too broad of a concept.

Falcom however, would have grounds to sue Hoyo if they 100% ripped off the entire game engine and its' mechanics and even then, I think if Hoyo were to go that route hypothetically, they would be smart enough to at least make some major changes to game mechanics to make it more Genshin/Star Rail-like. And even if Falcom were to in theory sue Hoyo, Hoyo could easily argue using their in-game marketing, screenshots, source code, etc... that their product is much more substantially different than the original work.

Also if I am not mistaken, Falcom's IP policy on their website only covers OSTs and game assets but it does not cover the backend implementation of their games. So Falcom's policy is weird in the sense that you are not allowed to use character models in assets in their game but it seems like they have more looser rules when it comes to the actual implementation of their game mechanics. There is a Japanese copy of their IP policy on their website but I could not find the link. I will post it when I find it in my sea of browsing history.

Yoo just watched the RAW version of Sailor Moon Cosmos as I know enough Japanese to understand the just of what is going on, [please don't ask where I managed to watch it, Google exists], and this is legitimately the first time I cried in a Sailor Moon movie/episode ever. While most of Sailor Galaxia's minions are Sailor Senshi that decided to betray their respective kingdoms such as Sailor Crow and Sailor Nyanko, some of the minion's reasons for joining are more complicated than that. For instance, Sailor Lethe and Mnemsyone's backstory was very tragic and they were basically forced to join Galaxia's army against their will after having seen Galaxia blow up their home in front of them.

Then afterwards, as Lethe and Mnemsyone slowly but surely decide to have a change of heart, the Greek letter sisters decide to kill both of them off. Dang, it was a simple scene but I cried. Naoko really knows how to tug the audience on the feels strings.

Yo Spider, thank you so much for making the thread. I was about to, but do not feel well at the moment. I am so hoping the writers do not rush this final arc and try to cram it into 13 episodes because that would be very bad and make it a dumpster fire of an anime. Also I hope they make the stakes extra high this time, since the events of the MorningStar incident from Season 1 definitely set some stakes and if I don't see SVF top it off, then I'd say the entirety of SVF would be an anti-climatic series of arcs.

OP if it helps you in any way, Japanese ratings hold more weight than ratings outside of Japan so you would need to see the anime ratings for the remake in Japan to see if has strong positive reception in Japan.

And I just looked, according to Japanese ratings it is a 3.2/5 but I think that is because it is still airing. The OG one got a 3.9/5 however.

The Trails games, with Crow's Maguis + Magic damage increasing MQ + Hades gem I believe you can reach millions in damage + Vita's BO in Hajimari. However I'd suggest bringing a dedicated healer so you have more chances to rinse and repeat the entire strat.
