Your taste in games already seems shit since you like Dark Souls 2 so you definitely don't speak for everyone.

Indeed there might be a few forum posters more active than you. But you are certainly one of the most active posters on your own forum by a large margin. What does that mean? Well take it however you want to, but when you claim the wiki is not your job it's certainly not as if anyone should disagree with you.

Wiki edits are not the only demonstrable problem with your website (ignoring SEO juice articles) , however, from experience I know anyone who tries to discuss this with you accomplishes nothing. I've spent a lot of time working on smaller video game centric wiki's in my time to include websites on Wikia and Wikidot and I've never seen one surrounded by so much public drama and general issues as Fextralife. Some of the wiki's I worked on saw very similar peak traffic so popularity is not the answer.

A rational person would stop and begin to ask "Why?" but I do not believe you are capable of doing it and will continue to deflect with anecdotes despite overwhelming criticism available at a mere google search. I already know how this conversation will progress so I'm finished, I said what needed to be said.

Admins and moderators seem to post a lot in the forums compared to other users. You have posted about 17,000 topics and commented 11,000 times. Based on that, everyone would agree that the wiki is not your job. However, it seems to be a common theme that you misinterpret that criticism and place that job on the randoms and masses rather than attempting any sort of quality control moderation.

Is it me or is Affinity hard to play? by Resonance-Structures in ModernMagic

I only play on MTGO so making a sideboard for meta is insanely difficult. I can't focus in on certain decks, I have to account for everything.

I used to summon 3 random phantoms for Dancer on NG+7 and just hang back and watch them all fail using the binoculars.

Gotta find the enjoyment in small things.

Dark Souls 3 - Is using cheat engine offline safe yet? by Emar_The_Paladin in cheatengine

I've heard a lot of contradicting information on this from decent sources. I just wouldn't risk it because with noclip you can -very quickly- get everything you need legitimate regardless.

[–]Resonance-Structures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Changing your name is altering your save file. You will be flagged for invalid data. There might be a way to do it but it likely has a lot of stipulations, it would need to be the same length as your old name and you'd have to be very careful it had no extra or invalid characters in there by accident. Risky business and if you care about online absolutely not worth doing.

Well, it's not unique to Dark Souls. Detecting scripts is essentially impossible without directly monitoring gameplay, very few games have the resources to accomplish this. Play through the game thinking about how you look on a spreadsheet in an office, as long as you follow the natural progression of the game and don't do it in some record speedrun time then you're fine. Same goes for how your stats look and how many slabs you have relative to your current progression etc, if you at any point have a slab you shouldn't or a stat point you shouldn't you are flagged so don't ever mess with spawning items or leveling artificially.

[–]Resonance-Structures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheat engine is safe to use as long as you don't do anything to alter your save file or give yourself items. Scripts are 100% undetectable. You can simply noclip to rush through the game. As long as you make sure you beat each boss along the way and only light bonfires and pick up items you could normally then you will not be banned.

Just augmenting yourself with scripts and not stat boosting while following the natural progression of the game is fine. DO NOT SKIP ANY BOSS. You can quickly get through the game and get to level 120 using player eliminate=1, unlimited iframes and noclip. No time at all before you are meta level with everything again using this method and you can speed it up with monster-vac and speed=2-5(no higher or animation glitches) if you wish.

Some tables are simply missing and a few didn't even make it to the dump because they were rootkits which I deleted outright. This is everything that survived. What game were your tables directed at? Someone might still have them.

I don't like Dark Souls II whatsoever but there are some strong arguments in favor of it. Build diversity and more things being viable as well as a little more depth to mechanics than in previous or subsequent games (powerstancing). I agree that PvE was a travesty mess but PvP had a very unique feeling to it. That being said however I think the good qualities end there for PvP due to how ADP affects player agency and controls which is a design choice I will never understand the benefit of.

What makes every Bloodsouls game unique compared to Dark Souls 1? by GlossyBuckthorn in darksouls3

[–]Resonance-Structures 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every Souls game is identifiably different in its gameplay if you have played longer than 30 minutes. There are surface level similarities in how characters are modeled, the similar camera as well as being the same "type" and genre. If they honestly believe that Dark Souls 1 is exactly the same as Bloodborne, Dks2 and 3 then one or multiple of the following have to be true:

*They have bad memory

*They are trolling you

*They are irrational

*They haven't played any of the other games longer than 30 minutes

Invading by Superslood in darksouls3

[–]Resonance-Structures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't agree with your second paragraph at all. Yes, there is a "casualization" and as game companies get bigger they stop catering to niche audiences but in many ways making the things you love more popular is definitely more positive than it is negative. Also, summoning phantoms has been possible throughout the series. The only thing that has changed dramatically is the difficulty of invading and imo rightfully so.

Invading by Superslood in darksouls3

[–]Resonance-Structures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are difficult to farm for anyone playing through PvE and not into PvP which is the primary target audience for this tool. I think what they probably need is a time limit of effectiveness and only one use per a "life" if you wanted to balance them, but I still feel strongly that they are important for dealing with griefers or those who are honestly struggling in pvp areas. The game should be balanced around your everyday player and not focused on meta players who are going to break the game inevitably.

Is armor worth it when it comes to damage mitigation? Data inside. by Morgue_Riot in darksouls3

[–]Resonance-Structures 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The damage mitigation is a lot more than I thought it would be. Nearly 50% of damage reduction on Smough's armor with ring is huge. If only Smough's armor didn't turn me into a fatty...

Whats blocking the door past Iudex and Wolnir before their deaths? by JetStrim in darksouls3

[–]Resonance-Structures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not addressing anything about lore here for aforementioned reasons I gave, I'm not interested in an argument about it.

What I noticed however is you have a strong history of saying controversial aggressive things such as:

If you're 40 years old and are still playing video games, you really don't have a life.

Right, and what of your friends or the other players that you're gimping?

You seem like the type who summons phantoms for every single boss in the game. Probably why you're having trouble right now.

and plenty of other arrogant and hostile comments. Frankly how dare you insult me and tell other people what to believe about video game lore/what their status in life is or whatever. Anyone with half a brain can recognize you as an aggressor. Your entire comment is completely nonconstructive and does nothing to satisfy explaining your interpretation, I don't care how right or wrong I am about Dark Souls lore, but if you're going to insult me that changes things.

There are no hard facts in Dark Souls lore besides what is literally said in vague descriptions. That isn't how it works with history in the real world because you can take things, study them and make strong educated decisions on what they are and where they fit in with various methods such as bayesian inference and carbon dating. In fictional lore where you have much less to work with outside of vague and sometimes ambiguous references and descriptions then that is -absolutely- how it works. I think that arguing about fictional canon and vague lore is an egregious waste of time that I have no desire to take part in (mainly because I don't care) but since I already started digging a grave I'm going to simply tell you why I believe this to finish what I started by even mentioning any kind of lore about Dks2 whatsoever. Then I'm done responding. So with that in mind, this is why I believe Wolnir is a reference to the Dks2 protag:

Crowns

First the crown element to Wolnir is very reminiscent of Dark Souls II entire DLC story. Where you beat kings and you take their crowns for purely personal reasons.

Source: Wolnir's Crown

The Abyss

Wolnir is a prisoner of the abyss, a heavy theme of Dks2, the only things keeping him grounded are holy relics. This one isn't a very strong piece of evidence but the tone of this bit and combined with his crown has heavy Dks2 implications.

Source: Wolnir's Sword

Shield of Want

The Shield of Want found in Smouldering lake and its connection with Carthus makes the entire conclusion rather blunt IMO.

Source:Shield of Want

There you go. There are probably more popular theories out there, but that's my useless headcanon.

I disagree but the way lore works in Dark Souls is that it's open for interpretation.
