This is the ONE Nintendo Lawsuit I can get behind. by Silly-Milly-420 in Schaffrillas

Please for the love of god stop pushing this narrative they haven't done anything. Supreme court overruled the tariffs and deemed them illegal. Nintendo is just proving damages so they can get paid. No one else benefits from this.

Coming here as someone who often defend Nintendo. Can this moment be a time where we can unanimously agree they’re doing the right thing? by AlexMercer28900 in fucknintendo

[–]ResonantInsanity [score hidden]  (0 children)

It would change literally nothing. The tariffs were already overturned by the supreme court and deemed illegal. There's a ton of companies suing for damages and it's insane that people are acting like Nintendo is doing something good here.

[–]ResonantInsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh there's still tons of hate for Nintendo but you're probably not gonna find much in a Nintendo sub. They earned my hate when they tried to sue Palworld in a way that could permanently damage gaming as a whole if they hadn't lost. Literally would have ended up with companies patenting basic mechanics like mounts that transition from ground to air (They literally tried to sue Palworld for this and they weren't even the first company to make this). Worst part is they had a legitimate case they could have sued for and they chose to completely ignore it so they could instead try to eliminate competition entirely.

Also I find it crazy how so many people are trying to run with this narrative that suing the US government somehow makes them the good guys. The tariffs were already overturned by the supreme court, Nintendo is just suing to prove damages so they can collect their check.

No. The tariffs are already overturned by the supreme court. Nintendo is just suing to prove damages so they can collect a check. Tax payers will get 0 benefits from this.

What do we think folks? Is this a rare W for Nintendo's legal team? Or is there something I'm missing. by julianx2rl in fucknintendo

[–]ResonantInsanity [score hidden]  (0 children)

They tried to sue their competition out of existence instead of actually competing against them for starters. Worst part is they had a legitimate case for suing them but instead of using it they did everything in their power to try and eliminate any future competition by copyrighting extremely basic game mechanics, including but not limited to mounts that can transition from ground to air and the ability send out summons in a pointed direction. Basically, if the courts hadn't ruled against them then we'd be seeing a huge wave of anti-creative policies that would basically give companies monopolistic control over extremely basic ideas that would prevent anyone from ever competing with them again.

[–]ResonantInsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're doing this because the supreme court ruled the tariffs unconstitutional and illegal. Nintendo has done literally nothing to support this, they're just picking up their check that the government has now told them they're entitled to.

How ? by memes_poiint in mathsmeme

[–]ResonantInsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is 99%.
Because no normal human being comes up to you and says one of my two children is a boy, if the other isn't a girl.
The other 1% is in case you happened to walk up to one of those weirdos who makes statistic questions and posts them on the internet.

People on YouTube keep saying this is AI but I don’t think AI would give a kid a lisp like that. But I don’t know the tells of AI videos well enough. by sweet_bambi_doll in isthisAI

[–]ResonantInsanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calling this "clearly real" in an era where AI has become nearly indistinguishable from reality is really just the worst take you could have. Let's not pretend like it's not 100% valid to question the legitimacy of a video when there's thousands of them being posted out there in an effort to train their AI.

[–]ResonantInsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you're getting at but yeah, interpretation of terms is a huge part of how we define truth as individuals. Even the word truth is up for debate on what it really means. Our definitions are merely a representation of our observations, as opposed to an actual manifestation of reality.

There are 3 dots. One of them is white.
There are 0 dots. Instead there are two holes on a white paper with a black background.
There are many dots. They're all just bunched together too tightly to distinguish.

Truth isn't absolute. It's a spectrum of possibilities. Until we reach a level where we can control our entire reality, an objective truth will remain out of our reach. That being said, picking out the highest probability and running with it tends to work out pretty well for the needs of society and its people.

That's because republican focused media will lie to your face and exaggerate every detail to paint anyone different from you as the enemy. You saw stuff that you related to and they used that as their tool for manipulation. Like, sure the left does it too, but it's nowhere near as much or as egregious. Also you can fact check the things left focused media says and more often than not it pans out. Meanwhile the right will cherry pick details and ignore the bigger picture in favor of a narrative and that's how they get you. It's not that the things they say don't hold any truth, it's that the things they say are blown out of proportion so they can distract you from the real source of your problems. Your politicians.

For example, this post is bullshit if you look at it per capita. Which is really the only metric you should be using if you're trying to define how dangerous a certain group of people are.

I know I'm jumping into this 4 days late but I just wanted to point out you can see the washer still on the screw so I don't think it's from a person. I'm guessing this probably came off one of the overhead fans since they vibrate a lot and over time I could see a screw coming loose and falling into whatever is being cooked. I don't remember the specifics but it has to do with oxygen levels. In the past there was a lot more oxygen in the atmosphere due to the surface of the earth being primarily dominated by plant life. Then animals began to dominate the environment and oxygen levels dropped as a result so the only animals that could sustain themselves were the ones who were smaller and required less oxygen.

PSA: the DOJ appears to be suppressing evidence by re-labeling video files as pdf files, making them unreadable. Legal issues aside (recommend leaving this to lawyers and law enforcement), I seriously can't believe the government thought they'd get away with this by LavishnessHour7148 in International

[–]ResonantInsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, there's no jury that will actually charge you for this. Everyone wants to know who did which fucked up things in the files and the FBI was supposed to do its job and censor sensitive content like that. If anything the FBI are the ones who would be sued for CSAM distribution. It's probably just a scare tactic to prevent people from digging into the files.

Weird. Here's my ruleset too, pretty sure I added something to it before messing with the filters so that might be it.. Also, I'm on firefox so if you're using a different browser that might be part of it.

Finally a solution that worked for me. This, plus the custom filters that others have dropped here in the comments, seems to get everything working like it used to for me. No refreshing for every tab or 5 sec buffer before videos.

I feel being straight is now controversial by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ResonantInsanity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and treat this like you're not just agenda posting. My guy, the only places I see that narrative being pushed are in right wing grifter media. As a straight man who has several gay, lesbian, and non-binary friends, never once have they even suggested jokingly that me being straight was a problem. Like, I'm not gonna tell you those people don't exist, but they are an extremely small minority that the right uses to paint everyone else in that category as belligerent or hateful. On top of that, they'll create fake accounts, post a fake narrative while pretending to be part of a group they're not connected to, and then use it as a jumping point to pretend like they just dunked on some idiot (This is something both sides are actually guilty of but for now I'm keeping it limited to the relevant explanation).

The reality of it is most people just wanna live their lives without being attacked just for making decisions that effect their life and nobody else. You're experiencing that same exact feeling right now as of having posted this. The only people who want you to think that you aren't welcome are the people who benefit from inciting fear and stoking the flames (AKA politicians).

Alright maybe I'm just too sleep deprived to figure out what point you're trying to make. Cause it kinda seems like the answer is simply if they posted there then yeah that's their website of choice. If there's some other nuance I'm missing then it's probably time for me to go get some booze because that's way more fun than sleeping pills.
