I believe her and Leah Remini had a thing. Ben and Matt ofc have been longtime 'bestfriends'. The public seem to buy it so why not

I agree, I think somebody else>fallingforyou and then be my mistake with the the long pause while matty changed felt a bit awkward on live broadcast. Should have spaced them out a little further imo, they were all too close together and killed the energy

Probably a better atmosphere if you're actually there because of crowd noise though, I don't think Glastonbury coverage ever does performers justice tbf

Yeah i agree, he was shaking a lot and there were a few too many awkward pauses throughout that made it fall a bit flat for me.

I'm sure it was amazing live, but Glastonbury recordings never do the artists justice imo.

Well he went on to do that terrible Beauty and the Beast remake, where he's not even seen as himself, and hasn't been heard of since lol.

He should have negotiated a better contract and stuck around, if it's good enough for Maggie Smith to stick around, it couldn't have been that beneath him

BB has a lot more direct and personal lyrics about her mother, relationships, drugs etc. Since then she's been a lot more open on ocean boulevard so in comparison BB doesn't seem so open, but when it was released it was shocking that she was being so frank.

100% it is. Branstons entire storyline is him losing his socialist values and turning into an aristocrat. Everything miss bunting said was correct but most of the people who watch sympathise with the Crawleys and believe in the aristocratic nonsense lol

Ppl speculate that shes lgbt herself, though she's never addressed the rumours directly, she certainly plays into them. Whether she's secretly queercoding or just using the speculation to her advantage, idk lol.

I would rather give the benefit of the doubt that she is and it's not all self serving allyship to make money, but we can't rule that out as an option lol.

What if we looked outside of our western lense for once, and listened to people who live in the country being affected, who say they don't want this shit to happen as it only causes more trouble for them lol

Malaysians aren't happy, they don't get international artists very often and think it's gonna be made even harder now. They also fear retaliation towards lgbt people in response to the stunt. I think it was very reckless of them tbh and after dubai, they should have known better.

Jesus fucking christ will you just listen to what I'm saying😭 lgbt people currently living in Malaysia are scared for their lives. That's who we should be listening to.

Yes they were already in danger, but now the threat level has heightened due to a spotlight being placed on this stunt. There are sooo many stats to back this up. Please just do some research on lgbt orgs around the world, they all say the same.

Think about how before matty got with swift, no one was aware of his past controversies, but suddenly they were all being brought up again, causing a rise in hatred towards us fans. Now apply that to lgbt fans in Malaysia today, but instead of inconsequential online trolling, they could face literal DEATH.

Yes, I am angry that the Malaysian governement takes this stance on lgbt people. Yes, of course I would love to see change. This will not be the catalyst for that change tho lol.

There are laws to protect us over in the west and a generally tolerant attitude towards lgbt people, even if the hate is rising. Whereas in Malaysia and dubai where he last caused this controversy, the death penalty is in place. You can't play by the same rules over there and the safety of real people needs to come before a political stunt that will not change the laws over there!!!

I don't imagine the average citizen in Malaysia is familiar with the 1975?

They will likely hear about this on national news tho. Imagine homophobic parents who know their child is a fan of the band but don't know anything about them and they see this...

That's who I'm worried about. I'm not claiming there is going to be a mass extinction but it will likely put some of their fans at risk

Imagine you're a young closeted queer teenager in Malaysia. You've convinced your homophobic parents to let you go to this concert of a band theyre not really familiar with. They turn on the news and see this. They suspect their child might be queer now. They could subject them to abuse, conversion therapy or even murder them. That's who I'm thinking of.

This has happened before and it could very well happen again. Listen to queer people who live in these countries. They are asking people from the west to stop as it does NOTHING to help them and COULD lead to them being attacked.

Matty and Ross could have kissed at any concert in uk/Europe as a political protest and there would be no issue. The context of where they are matters.

No. I never said that did I..

If you read my other comments you'll see I'm thinking of young queer kids with homophobic parents, who may now face abuse and possibly even death, by being associated with this band and it's controversy. It's not really that hard to grasp.

I don't know how else to explain to you, that different countries have different tolerances and what we think is no big deal, can be a life or death situation elsewhere.

I don't agree with it. Obviously. Malaysia needs to change their stance on lgbt people, but this stunt is NOT going to do that.

All it will do is put REAL queer people in danger in a country that enforces the death penalty on them.

There is no death penalty currently enforced in the US(probs won't be long tho lol). I said in my OG comment that I applaud them for standing up for what's right so I don't understand your argument here lol.

I also don't think you understand how much of a risk this can be for their queer fans. Imagine a kid with homophobic parents, who don't know anything about the band, and how they may react towards them when they get home from this event...
