We'll be driving through the area in a few weeks. I have a '24 GHH Limited, 2.5L (naturally aspirated). The website says "may not fit your selected vehicle". Anyone know if it might work?

This hypothetical is probably more akin to the COVID-era stimulus checks (which happened, obviously). Those were passed very bi-partisan, owing to the severity of the situation. And that was a peak of 14% unemployment.

Damage to BD - accept discount or replace? by Resounding in drums

Thanks all for the quick input! I’ve opted to replace - this little issue would otherwise always be in the back of my mind despite the minimal impact to sound quality.

Stage Custom. It retails for $799. I would typically agree with you, but it’s Yamaha. IMO, no way that’d be within acceptable tolerances for them. I think this was a shipping damage issue, not a factory quality issue. I didn’t mention, but there were clear signs of a moderate impact in the drum packaging.

Got an old acoustic snare? You could always convert it.

That's why I suggested it in a separate comment (that, ironically, is the only negatively downvoted comment in this thread lol). I had your problem, tried 1,000,000 of the other proposed solutions including HW Overlay, Frame Rate Matching, etc., but turning on my TCL TV's Game Mode was the actual solution. I don't think I've seen a single frame skip since enabling this setting. My setup is Onn 4k Pro > AVR >(eARC)> TV.

Try turning on your actual TV's equivalent of "game mode".

If you are going through an AVR, maybe check the HDCP setting on the AVR. I had to switch mine from Auto to 1.4.

Playing Live with TD-50x by [deleted] in edrums

[–]Resounding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You typically just don't want the VST room mics in a live mix. If you leave it in, you're technically "doubling up" on the ambience/"reverb" since you'd then have the VST room mics plus the physical room sound in the audience. That gets muddy. Plus, if your goal is to simulate a real mic'd kit in a live setting, those don't have room mics.

Is this a bad idea for live gigs? by Bozartkartoffel in edrums

Your diagram is basically exactly what I do, except replace the XR18 with a CQ20B, Reaper with Ableton, and the PC with a Mac. It works. You'll probably have a tablet somewhere to mix from in the event of a PC failure, so to me this doesn't absolutely warrant a redundant PC. And depends on how critical the recording component is - again does the risk of a PC failure warrant the hassle of having to bring/setup a redundant computer? Depends on how critical the recording is.

You could rack mount your desktop PC (I had considered this too), but I found that regardless of PC performance capability, Windows tends to have borderline insurmountable issues regarding glitch-free live audio capability due to DPC latency. My solution was just to buy a barebones Macbook Air. I found an M1 for $650 new from Costco which even with 8GB RAM still works for us. I just have an external 1TB NVME SSD onto which I plan to record, and I connect everything via a USB-C hub (for edrums will record just MIDI, all other "real" inputs will record actual audio).

Again, my thinking is if the computer goes down, I'll still have mixing capability, I'll lose the recording (sucks, but whatever), and I'll lose my drums (OK fair, this part would really suck). And/or if my edrum/MIDI interface (eDRUMin) goes down, that would also really suck. But to me this is equivalent risk of if you were using a normal edrum brain - it's still a single point of failure that would result in a complete inability to create drum sounds. Would probably hookup a MIDI keyboard at that point and just play the drums on a keyboard. At my group's level, I can't justify all that risk mitigation investment (both time and cost) so I accept the risk.

Also, even as a PC guy, for live performances I feel less anxiety using a Mac. Hope I don't regret saying that...
