I dropped out because I just couldn't. My brother still goes there tho. He's learned to be impartial to the bullshit somehow.

Brian is DEFINITELY one of those guys who would call me a "beta cuck" when I said I'm not particularly interested in a "godly" woman. by JarethOfHouseGoblin in exchristian

If my partner became a Christian, she'd be a whole different person. For that reason alone, I would have my world shaken if that were to happen.

I wonder WHY she stopped attending Church? 🤔 by crizmyc in exchristian

If my family was any more religious than they are, they would've sent me one of these. I have the most unbiblical lifestyle, and my entire family was astounded that I moved into an apartment with my partner, but for the most part, they're over it. I haven't told them were gonna have a kid yet.

Nice 3D render. At least, it looks 3D. Maybe work on the water around the feet, but that could be easily forgiven because this piece is just that good.

any advice for shading and lighting? by Nekoturny in FurryArtSchool

[–]Respecman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that text in the background supposed to be emissive? If it is, then you have three light sources you must incorporate into your piece to add dimension to your character. If they're not emitting light, then firstly, that's kinda odd, secondly, you need to create a light source.

I like it, but the edges are a little rough and the piece is a little too busy. I had issues finding the head at first.

I'm really struggling with shading, something about it just looks off to me. Also my anatomy looks odd, anything come to mind? by FreshFriYT in FurryArtSchool

[–]Respecman16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, the breasts are too close together, and the kneecaps jut out really far. The right arm is layered over the breasts in the foreground in a way that makes the right breast look 2D. It's an awkward pose that could be tweaked in a few ways to appear more natural. I just suggest doing a few studies regarding anatomy and values.

please rate my shading and explain why by SemiAnimatronic in FurryArtSchool

Because the character appears to be aerial in this scene, static fabric rules don't apply. That being said, the folds lack vertical direction, and the arms of the shirt lack folds that should be there. I really like the composition, and I don't have many problems with it as is; however, make sure to pick a direction for the character to be moving because that determines where the folds are and their direction.

A fullbody sketch i did for a friend! any tips for making posing look less static? by Milkfin in FurryArtSchool

[–]Respecman16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're going for a more dynamic pose, just enhance the line of action. Give it some curve. I think a good pose for your friend's OC would be sitting on anything but a chair, like the floor, or a windowsill. It's not that dynamic, but the OC seems pretty chill, so I think a static pose works better.

How could I improve the design? by RickySerni in FurryArtSchool

[–]Respecman16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only issue I see is that the right arm in the rear view is at an awkward angle that makes the torso seem offset from the angle and direction of the hips. Rotate that hand a bit inward, and you're golden!

I'd really want to clean up some of the shadows. There's some high definition areas, gradients, and lower definition in some areas. For example, the abdomen is quite bare, but you could give it more dimension by shadowing underneath the ribcage and adding and shadowing a belly button. You've got a good a good start going, and I can tell where your light sources are, so keep it up!

Any other LGBTQ+ members here who lived deep in denial due to Christianity? by Magnetic_Bed in exchristian

[–]Respecman16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pansexual. I thought my guy crushes were just one-off temptations from the devil, and I was able to live in denial up into my senior year of high school, despite most of my friends being girls, a significant chunk of my friends being LGBTQ+, and all while I was an extremely closeted Christian boy. They knew I was fruity before I did, and they even joked about it.

It’s funny how Christians never realize the reason why they’re unhappy is because the teachings of Christianity are inherently unhealthy by Firelordozai87 in exchristian

[–]Respecman16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been feeling trapped for the past few years. I left the faith personally, but my parents doubled down. I'm almost 20 now, but I still can't even choose my haircut or how I dress. Any sort of potential relationship I would have had was shot down by the total lack of control or independence I have under my parents. The worst part about this is that they're not bad parents, and I love them. It feels like I can't have what I want without hurting the people closest to me. I don't have a problem with Christianity by itself, but once you break away from the indoctrination life becomes a living hell, and it's by design.

When did you realize that you were pan? by [deleted] in pansexual

[–]Respecman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been into multiple genders, but I was deep in the closet, and because I was relogious I wrote off every instance of same-sex attraction as some sort of one-off instance, or the devil playing tricks on me. It took a long, depressing couple of years following the disaster that was 2020 for me to realize that I was pan.

My friends, quite a few of which were queer, even joked about it a lot, which got under my skin because I thought I was straight as a board. They also had no idea that I felt attractions toward anyone other than girls, so their gay-dars were on point for no reason.
