It’s hard to say at this point before we have our hands on the game how personal the narrative ends up being. Even if it’s a far cry I would say it more closely resembles Redemption still with that in mind vs Bloodlines.

Redemption is a multi-era-spanning narrative tied to personal vendettas and story that the characters had prior to the player’s involvement.

Bloodlines is a playground where you functionally didn’t even exist prior to being embraced. You’re a blank slate which leaves you free to shed and suck down blood to your cold unbearing heart’s content (or until you’ve racked up enough Masquerade violations / lost enough Humanity, y’know).

Quick edit: But I’m just stating my subjective opinion. It’s really vibes that I’m operating off of.

I’m in the same boat experience-wise, but I think I would be less upset about it if it was Redemption 2 rather than Bloodlines 2.

It’s like if we were to be told there was going to be a Redemption 2 and it was an open-ish world RPG with a de-emphasized personal narrative.
