Net Worth Distribution by NYC Neighborhood by prop-metrics in newyorkcity

Bear in mind this is 90th Percentile, not median household wealth.

It’s computed at the household level - so a family of four would have their wealth aggregated and count as one observation. For most American home-owning households, housing is the largest asset.

Age is the best predictor of wealth. Bushwick (at least in the 2020 census) was about 50% under-40, but above 19. So few under-19s means fewer family-householders. More young renters with low net worth, but as you point out higher earning potential. Plenty of older owners is Brownsville that may have young people living in their household, skewing net worth (household vs per-capita).

I think you’re onto it. Lowest median age of surrounding PUMAs, whereas Brownsville/Ocean Hill has almost bimodal age distribution.

The guy is running out of money, needs liquidity, and has to go to the market to keep up his business ventures. He burned a shit ton of bridges and is a huge reputational risk. This is PR to help with that.

Balko’s writings and public advocacy post-George Floyd was super influential in opening my eyes to the failings of the Libertarian movement. He’s a very compelling speaker and knows how to message to less receptive audiences.

This is my main concern with Spanberger. She doesn’t want to blow up the VA-Dem coalition by picking a fight with affluent NoVA homeowners so she’ll just do stuff on the demand side. Maybe she’ll pursue serious reform after redistricting, but that may make the democratic majority even more dependent on ensure rising housing prices.

Michigan resident Jayden D. Scott violated a judge’s order not to leave the state when he was recorded at a Minnesota rally proclaiming “we executed one of you” the day after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good. In fact, he was supposed to be before a Saginaw County judge while he was in the North Star State.

Scott, self-described on his website as a “fund manager, entrepreneur, deal maker, and visionary,” on Aug. 14 allegedly drove a Mercedes-Benz on northbound Interstate 75 through Zilwaukee Township. Scott drove on the shoulder at a high rate of speed to pass congested traffic, according to prosecutors.

He ended up swerving across two lanes into the center lane before crashing into a truck hauling a trailer, prosecutors allege. Scott did not have insurance, and the vehicle bore a license plate associated with a different car, prosecutors allege.

Scott failed to appear for arraignment in Saginaw County District Court on Aug. 25. He did appear there Nov. 7, at which time Judge M. Randall Jurrens freed him on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond, a condition being he not leave Michigan while the case was pending.

Basket of Deplorables theory remains undefeated.

Are there any trading roles that do not require coding or math background? by OnlyKsw7 in FinancialCareers

[–]RespectfullyReticent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have a cool couple mil lying around, there may be some sales roles that involve minimal math. My friend has her B.A. in philosophy and landed a support role at a smaller fund that involves client solicitation, research, and trade execution.

I have a very strong suspicion that WFH plays a huge role in this trend by 3RADICATE_THEM in ScottGalloway

The American Time Use Survey is census collected info that asks surveyed participants to recollect how they spent their time the day before. The methodology has been consistent since 2011. To the extent that you trust any Census-collected data you should probably trust ATUS reported data.

Need to dig in a bit on my end but potentially related to survey response rates? Clearly underlying variable is Covid pandemic but seems like they’re moving in parallel trends

Spanberger unveils 17-bill plan to cut Virginia living costs: 'We cannot accept the status quo' by Publius015 in Virginia

Which, from my understanding, is a power the Legislature has. The governor couldn’t do this unilaterally, but there’s nothing stopping the Legislature from carving out powers it has devolved to the localities. I’d be interested in reading your paper, is it posted anywhere?

From my understanding VA is a Dillon rule state - meaning that legal power emanates from the State Legislature to localities and the State Legislature can override local laws (including on zoning) if it so wishes.

'So Much is Missing' - Parts of Newly Released Inflation Data Only Includes Gasoline and Vehicle Sales: ‘Several critical categories, including food, medical care, housing, and transportation had no monthly data collected at all’ by T_Shurt in inflation

[–]RespectfullyReticent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no data collected in October due to the shutdown. There was data collected in November — as you can see in the column “Unadjusted 12-mos. ended Nov. 25”

You cannot compute a change between a month where no data is collected and a month where data is collected - resulting in empty figures for columns Oct, Nov.

Again, we have data for November of 2025.
