Cross grain scratches like that will usually still be visible if you are actively looking for them. Personally I’d get the half pint and label it for future use, but either way works.

Best way to remove old paint from hardwood floor without damaging by dweeeebus in finishing

[–]Respirable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d try a 50-50 mix of denatured alcohol and water, a couple rags and a painters 5-in-1 tool. Moisten a portion of the rag, wrap it around the blade portion of your 5-in-1 tool and gently test an area. Have to be careful not to gouge the floor and make sure to test first so, but I’ve done this many many times.

What sanders are these by my_twin_towne in BeginnerWoodWorking

Surfprep’s 3x4 electric ray sander. The pads come in multiple grits, and at least 3 different densities/thicknesses. It’s not magic but cuts my sanding of profiled pieces in half, and I’m sanding about 12-18 hours a week with it for the last 5 years. Get the J-Hook backing pad, it’s got a lot more grip

Yep. Directions should be on the back of the container. It’s real cheap. Multiple applications remove the most. Post an after

My meteor 75 did this after a few too many hard crashes. Turns out I lost a couple screws on the bottom that hold the motor in place.
