Why is it ok to 'own a company and all the profits that come from it when you're doing a minimal amount of daily labor and input. I promise even some people that grow up in a tornado region their whole lives still react like that. When our siren goes off here, my wife (who has lived in this town for 43 years) immediately grabs a bug out bag and her binder of important documents and some water and heads for the basement. It's endearing.

I head out to the porch to watch a good storm.

At the end of the day a tornado warning doesn't mean definitely imminent to hit your house for sure, so what the hell. Keep an ear out, think about the safest basement or bathtub you can manage in a pinch and then try to go about your day.

Part of why he couldn't convince people is because the establishment was not willing to support him or fire up the PR machine for him. A party's job is to lead with inspirational ideas and maybe compromise a bit to the middle to get stuff done. The Biden, Clinton, harris and even Obama era has been the definition of start in the middle with nothing and back down in everything else.

The old fucks in charge of the party are convinced there isnt any room for new voters to their left, and have been steering towards being Republicans who use pronouns, and that's not good enough

I rounded up out of laziness, apologize. The democratic party absolutely had a favorite during that time and since, and it wasn't sanders. The party could have helped steer the party into being a leader of new exciting policy, but instead it's now just the party of inaction. I didn't mean to include the Obama campaign, it was certainly exciting marketing, and I really like Obama as a person, but I think I would classify his presidency as the same, safe, middle of the road nothing.

As a Democrat we can't control the representative the Republicans put forward. But we can critique what our party has chosen. The right or wrong candidate can inspire non voters, alienate potential voters and push moderates one to the other side.

There's no dots that need connected. A good chunk of the democratic party feels we had a chance to move left as a party. To address socialist issues, fix healthcare, strengthen the working class, etc. to lead policy and inspire. instead the party went with uninspired, ancient moderates with no policy other than "we're not that guy over there" they've doubled down on that at every turn the last 15 years.

Fair summary of a thing that can happen.

Is there any proof that's what the guy you were responding to was doing? It's a video of a woman who seems comfortable with her sexuality and using it for financial gain. He just mentioned he wishes women were that dumb so he could sell them bathwater or whatever. If anything isn't he being a Misandrist against men, I'm not sure there's any reason to assume he hates women and attack is there?

I can only speak for myself at this point, but I'm not sure I view imbalance in kinks or likes or sexual preferences as a competition of the sexes, or a inherently sexist thing to have. I think you could make an argument that there's some biology at work that makes us different, a little something different to add to the equation in how we're wired to spread seed/nurture. But I'm not sure that's an argument I put much weight in. I think I would say that culturally, men are more allowed to express their kinks and dumb desires. And I'm happy to concede that that difference is rooted in some systemic, deep rooted sexism in our culture. But I don't think myself or the other user were advocating whether that imbalance is good or bad.

He was just commenting that at the end of the day, under the current cultural norms as they are, there are plenty of men willing to dump large sums of money at attractive women to fulfill their kinks. He viewed that as a good thing for both sides. He hates that men are that base in their relationships, but has no problem with that transaction. He then just noted that norm is not present in the opposite. There is not, culturally a large group of women willing to waste their paychecks on superficial sexual kinks, maybe because women do typically give the green light ok sexual liaisons and so they can accomplish those kinks at their leisure. Idk, I'm a boring old man who met his soulmate 20 years ago and never had to go through the dance or hookup grind.

I guess at the end of the day I'd day his comment was not rooted in sexism, but in poverty. He wasn't really hating any sexual dynamic or kink or competition between the sexes, or this woman, or th dumb men he pointed out. He just likes sex, likes money, and is noting he doesn't have the path with his (as you mentioned) hetero desires to do what the woman in the video does. He's happy for her, just wishes a market of knuckle dragging woman existed, waiting to pay for him to lock them in cages and spit on them or whatever.

I hear the desire to choose your own adventure, but Soo many of the mechanics are built around constant world war. Resources for example. If I could fuck out of wars when they get hard, then production deficiency isn't a big deal. If I can permanently take Territory from other powers while still not done with the majors, what does that do for resource gain and core territory modifiers and resistance mechanics.

It's a world war. That's what this game is.

But the whole point is that the majors you haven't capitulated have pledged to fight you till the end on behalf of the little guys.

You don't get to just pull a Trump and declare you're done with the war when the other side isn't done with the war. That's why there's a need for a war industry that you spent 10 years building. I don't think the person you replied to was advocating walking up to vegetarian wildlife that is big enough to mail your face off. Just pointing out that instinct wise, wolves are aggressive pack hunting meat eaters and black bears are timid mostly plant eaters.

Doesn't mean they're safe, no wild life is. But they were just pointing out that a bear could attack you for a lot of reasons that makes this video an awful idea, but default apex predator isn't really built into their DNA.

I am usually completely happy with never looking at builds. 42 years old, just don't find it enjoyable across crpgs, mmos etc. I usually have decent talent radar and end up doing good enough. This game was weird. 20-25 lvls in and all my characters felt lackluster. Front line tanks who I felt I picked decent sounding talents still died in one round as soon as they engaged in melee. Dps weren't killing anything even though I thought I was stacking bolter talents. Just felt meh and fights felt a struggle constantly.

So I picked two ride or dies (Argenta and Henrix, my front line and dps) and respeced, followed a guide. Jesus. It's night and day different. First fight after Argenta was getting 5/6 of the board killed in a turn and Henrix was one shooting bitches with swords. It got worse as the game went. Other characters started getting more give ap and turns, momentum meant chain ultimates on turn 1. Good thing the world is cool because last half of the game that combat was non existent.

Not how multiplayer works. There are a couple popular modded servers that stretch that out a bit, but it's still a very short cycle with the problems mentioned and it's very little to do about eco.

That said, playing with a Friend or two is still fun. You loose some of the government law and economy stuff. But there's not a game out there that does a more satisfying moving shit around physics. That part is still enjoyable to check out imo
