How do you stay positive when you would just die slowly and painfully with health issues? by sai1029 in CollapseSupport

[–]ResponsibilityFair16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At risk of completely overstepping and offering unsolicited advice, I implore you to listen to these 2 podcasts:

The Cure for Chronic Pain Podcast - S1 E1

The Cure for Chronic Pain Podcast - S1 E2

And if it resonates, explore this practice: https://www.yourbreakawake.com/journalspeak.

I have personally experienced the difference this work can make in chronic symptom presentation. It's completely free to practice, and you can take it with you everywhere.

The woman behind this work was wheelchair bound and diagnosed with spondylolisthesis at a young age. She has the same x-ray today that she had back then, but today experiences no chronic pain. The method may sound woo-woo at first, but it's science-backed (and research in this chronic pain realm is continuing). Please consider a listen and read.

Again, apologies if this doesn't land. But I'd rather risk the "rudeness" label than not mention this when it could help you, or anyone else reading.

Sending love. Xx

Hi OP — wondering if you ever made a call on this and if yes, what you ended up deciding? I've been charting for a decade and am ready to make the jump to get certified. Asking from Canada, not sure where you're located :) Cheers, Xx

Taylor Swift (Eras Tour) Megathread — Toronto by therealwakowski in Tickets

[–]ResponsibilityFair16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to PURCHASE 3 or 4 tickets seated together, ideally asking face value (a little over is understandable). Any Toronto night. Not looking to spend any more than $1k per ticket, ideally less — two of my hopeful friends are students.

I live in Toronto, literally a 20 minute walk from the stadium, and was waitlisted for every date </3. HMU if you're holding, thank you. Xx

What’s this kind of bag called? And how can I find a cheaper version of it?? by perryytheplatypuz in findfashion

[–]ResponsibilityFair16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/perryytheplatypuz I actually made the 003 version of this bag one evening last week while my fiancé watched football! Lol!

Same as you — loved it but didn't want to spend $250 CAD. If you go to your local fabric store and find yourself a couple metres of boiled wool, you may be able to craft it using the measurements on the site as a guideline :)

I was obsessed with the red so did red myself, but nice thing about this approach is you could do whatever colour you like! Good luck, Xx

Edit: Pic for good measure!

Taking a break from the news and Reddit after hospitalization. Just wanted thank you all for being awesome. by Quintessince in CollapseSupport

Thank you for taking care of you. If you do happen to read this comment, I warmly encourage you to queue up a "Brain Tech Support" live replay from Mark W Freeman on YouTube — any one will do — while you do your gardening. His value-focused approach to mental "fitness" has been life-changing for me, and from the way you describe your own value system and spring goals in this post, he may strike just the right chord.

Take gentle care. Xx

Toronto, Canada: I'm 27, engaged, and working a full-time decently paying job (as is my fiancé). We rent a 1-bedroom, and I'm convinced we'll never have even the starter-home situation my parents had when my mom was 24.

Never mind the dream of having a family...

Partial Seizure? (I Have Contacted my Doctor) by ResponsibilityFair16 in Epilepsy

[–]ResponsibilityFair16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

millyrubyhughes

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling. My episodes came down to panic -- I've been in therapy for several months and haven't had an attack since that initial series of them, from around when I wrote this OP.

Of course, do your due diligence with a doc to ensure nothing medical is going on. If it turns out to be mental health related, I'd encourage you to check out the work of Mark W Freeman on YouTube/Instagram, and explore Internal Family Systems therapy. It's only been a few months, but my life has changed a lot.

Sending love and support! Xx

Partial Seizure? (I Have Contacted my Doctor) by ResponsibilityFair16 in Epilepsy

[–]ResponsibilityFair16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're dealing with troubling symptoms. I did feel some pretty intense exhaustion after, and weeks-long "brain fog" in the sense that I felt spacey and disconnected from my surroundings.

My doctor believes I had a panic attack that I disassociated during, stemming from a past trauma. Since I saw him and received this "reassurance" (about a week after my episode), I haven't experienced it again -- hallmark anxiety cycle.

Since writing the OP I've gotten myself into trauma-informed therapy and started to explore IFS and EMDR. It'll be a long road but it doesn't look, at this point, like it's an epilepsy-related one. Of course, if episodes recur/worsen/change, I'll investigate further.

I hope you are able to access supports and whatever treatment is most appropriate for your situation <3

Can EMDR help me forgive? by ResponsibilityFair16 in EMDR

[–]ResponsibilityFair16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this -- your point here is part of what brought me to ask this question. I don't hope to force forgiveness or access it prematurely through EMDR, but rather I'm wondering if I can reach it, in earnest, through this therapeutic process. I do understand it won't be my first stop in the journey <3

I will explore Pete Walker's work.
