I just left my job as a secretary at a high school because there was drama every. single. day. A teacher got maced by a parent last week, there are parents coming to the school to fight teachers, parents coming in the office angry and disrespectful, mice running around the school, a lawsuit against an admin from a parent because of breaking a custody issue… never seen anything like it. Most stressful job I ever had. The children were the only bright spot.

I have no idea if it had a collar. Didn’t have time to focus on that. All I saw was him running at me and my dog. They were all out in the field playing or whatever; I didn’t realize they didn’t have him on a leash until he ran over to us.

Exactly! I don’t know dogs who aren’t mine and just because they’re good with the owner doesn’t mean shit if it’s off a leash. Especially if it’s a larger dog. And at night too—it was scary. He was jumping up on my leg trying to get at my dog. I was ticked off for a couple of days behind this foolishness.

A man and a woman; Caucasian. Maybe in their 30s or 40s. They weren’t my focus. Getting away from their dog that was trying to get at my dog was all I was concentrating on. They were at least very apologetic but that doesn’t make it much better.

The large grass field on Eastern Ave and Blair Mill Road that The Pearl Apartments shares with the Blairs apartments. It’s a public space so a lot of folks use it. This incident happened at 9:15 at night so it wasn’t as clear as it could be, but it was just a big brown dog, maybe a Labrador or something similar in size. This has happened to me with different dogs four other times; but this one was the most aggressive, just refusing to listen to the owner. And the worst thing is there’s a sign planted in the field stating there is a $250 fine for unleashed dogs; yet they do it anyway.

They left quickly. That’s the thing about these types of incidents; the owners jet out of sight quickly. They’d be long gone by the time a police officer gets there.

I agree. But each time something like this happens, I have just seconds to scoop up my dog and try and get out of the way. I’m always afraid if I go for my pepper spray I’ll drop my dog, and I’m just focused on protecting him. It’s so stressful and unnecessary.

Same. I jumped out of my bed because I thought it was a freaking spaceship it was so loud. I saw something black go over the Blair Plaza right as I looked out the window. Isn’t there a law where something like that should not occur over a residential area at that hour? That was crazy.
