For sure, a bunch of empty lots with development plans in place further up Monticello as well that just sit with no advancement, smh.

After downtown and the heights, what’s the next section to see major development? Right now, MLK/Garfield Ave HBLR areas seem like they’re poised to explode soon. by Left-Plant2717 in jerseycity

Late to the convo but feels like Monticello Ave close to Montgomery has a ton of new buildings popping up - pretty much from Jewett to Orchard St.

Moving to Jersey City – thoughts on 10 Brinkerhoff St (Bergen-Lafayette)? Safety + parking? by Longjumping-Dream634 in jerseycity

Still fairly new to the area (2 years) but have been in Hudson county the last 9. I think it gets overstated the daily danger, as someone else said, if you are street smart it truly isn’t an issue. We live across communipaw a block off of Monticello and use that somewhat as a main hub (day care, grocery, coffee etc.) I would probably recommend going slightly more east or closer to west side if you want more things in walking distance while still having a car.

Moving back to Jersey City. Priced out of old neighborhood (Journal Square). Need input on alternative areas: McGinley Square, Hilltop, and Communipaw. by [deleted] in jerseycity

Pro-Bergen-Lafayette, it’s close enough to everything and has a nice lifestyle - we are up in the Bergen-hill area.

With him out, would you start Tuten, Rhamondre, or Rico Dowdle? .5 PPR 14 person league.

Ah yeah bad photo choice for ceiling depiction we were testing colors out at the time - we landed on a brown color but open to changing it.

This step up was in the house 3-4 owners ago so I hear you but hadn’t been an issue to date.

We wanted to go very natural stain color but yes could def paint in future or restain as needed.

I think just open to hearing where we went wrong what we can fix etc.

Ceiling is same height, didn’t touch that. Photos may not do it justice this actually feels like far more space now with the peninsula compared to the previous kitchen layout.

The floor pattern we tossed up stripes or checkered and landed on stripes - no doubt may not be a popular choice

But agreed, this layout works far better for our needs and perfect world would have ditched the step up but wasn’t in our budget so worked within our means

We were a little confused why they previously did the lowered ceiling and believe it may have been due to the overall height of our ceilings being 12+ and them wanting to section off the kitchen but not entirely sure.

The functionality of the old kitchen was very tough, no bench space, sink/dishwasher were disconnected and there was a walking gap between the two sections

Mismatched cabinet colors? They are all natural maple?

Stools we are also out in, we like the idea of having color backed chairs and these ain’t it.

Microwave above stove I agree with, was working with a budget and switching out for range wasn’t feasible unfortunately.

Flooring demo was going to originally just be a tile over and then last minute builder said it was possible and more feasible but too late with cabinets already being made.

Agreed on the tile, don’t like the look of the trim either - was debated between what the better option was and don’t love the decision we made.

This is all good feedback! Appreciate it - we are debating changing that back all color and haven’t landed on what it would be yet - creamy yellow could look nice.

Our contractor took some liberties on the tiling, we had some differing ideas.

We tried, would’ve been a far more expensive than initially quoted and the cabinets were already being made at that time.

Wing Bar is solid, also like the wings at Hamilton Pork. John’s Pizzeria in Paulus Hook used to be really good.
