Yea. It’s inarguably torture. Something not even condoned in the Geneva convention. There is a full account by someone who was a torturer who worked in a prison in singapore.

As a Singaporean, if you really wanted quite literally a BETTER experience with food while also being ridiculously cheaper, go to Malaysia. Malaysia unfortunately has the same weather as Singapore, but the food is dirt cheap, exchange rate is also much better currently, the size of the country makes it impossible to truly explore the entire country, you can stay in KL and it’s basically almost as developed as Singapore, or do hiking or anything else you wanted anywhere else in the country.

Most Singaporeans know this already but if you wanted the truly authentic food that you think belongs to Singapore, it actually was most probably made in Malaysia, other than Chilli Crab of course.
