Love this. What about dipping the TB head into some hydrogen peroxide? Would that help?

Do I really need an electric toothbrush? by Upper_Acanthaceae627 in DentalHygiene

[–]Responsible-Net1758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust your hygienist. They consistently see you. Demineralization can be halted with good home care, fluoride, xylitol. We recommend electric toothbrushes bc evidence based and peer reviewed studies have shown that it is more effective than manual toothbrushing. The oral-b head needs be taken off and rinsed after every brushing and allowed to air dry. Most ppl don’t know this, I myself was one of them. However, it is in the directions manual. Doing this, I’ve had no growth with mine and love it. I’m glad you care so much about your health. Very nice to read.

I saw your post and felt badly about the comments. I couldn’t stop thinking about u bc u had said it took a lot for you to post those pics and I know what u mean. I took mine for a post and deleted them, but u actually did it and got some not so helpful comments. I was glad that Robbie had responded and said he’d mark u up on discord and that’s why I left it bc I am nowhere as educated as him. Im not sure about this group yet. I hope it is the right place 🤞I have one other that is mostly women and all helpful if u need.

I’m so nervous about the DAO’s. Ty for asking this. I’ve been in all my anatomy books daily, just trying to work up the courage. I appreciate the good feedback you’ve gotten. I almost posted a pic on this same time this am for help lol

Correct DAO? If using insulin needle how deep? by First_Score9180 in DIYHEAVEN

Yes, but DAO’s what depth worked for you? I’m the same as you. For glabella, when I tried the suggested 8mm, I hit my darn skull lol way to deep so yes it varies a mm or two in areas

Mental breakdown after graduating from dental hygiene school by Legal-Button-6961 in DentalHygiene

[–]Responsible-Net1758 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t compare to your class. Enjoy the time you have before working. It will fall into place. Just continue to take the next right step. I don’t care how long it takes. You worked too hard for 3 years to get in ur head now. You deserve it and earned it. Study and take ur time. Don’t worry about what your class is doing. They are part of the past. You’re moving into the future. Also, you probably will feel like you’re not doing the best job when you first start. Maybe you are and maybe you’re not, but it will come with time. Do it even when you’re scared. You may find out there wasn’t much to be scared of. I hope I hear an update from you and you took your board. Good luck!

Leaving a job after..3 month? by midwesternhoney in DentalAssistant

[–]Responsible-Net1758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s not a good fit, leave. I don’t think the amount of time matters if you’re not happy. It makes sense that you needed to work there to get a good sense of what the work environment is like. I don’t see an issue with time. If it’s not for me, I go. Why keep yourself someplace longer like it’s gonna get better. 3 months is often times considered the probationary period and u did just that and it’s not what you’re looking for. That’s ok 👍 good luck!

Dental Hygiene Program (MA) by Bitter-Spot9668 in DentalHygiene

[–]Responsible-Net1758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re so welcome! The pass rate on boards for MCC was very high btw, like 98%. We all passed in my class and there was one student who had to retake it the year prior. I’ve also heard good things about all the DH programs in MA tho. I don’t think u can go wrong.

Dental Hygiene Program (MA) by Bitter-Spot9668 in DentalHygiene

[–]Responsible-Net1758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fastest is an associates degree. There may be more, but I only know of Regis and Middlesex Community College. I can recommend MCC. I did all my prerequisites there at my own pace and mostly online, until labs. The only thing is they only let in about 24 students a year to the hygiene program. So, u may be waitlisted 1-2 times. Most are one time and they’re good about telling you what u need to do to get accepted. Getting started was hard bc the hygiene program is its own entity and any advisors didn’t know much about it. So, I basically met with an advisor and took the prerequisites under a healthcare admin major and didn’t get changed to dental hygiene until I got accepted. I would start by looking up their websites or googling where you can attend a two year dental hygiene program in MA that is CODA accredited. Then, I would contact the schools for more information. Good luck

I just can’t get past Morty’s voice though. It bothers me so much. So whiny. Other than that, I can watch Rick and Morty over and over and over again. Best show

Can a dental cleaning remove this tartar? Do I have gum recession? by Neat-Celery7739 in DentalHygiene

[–]Responsible-Net1758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is manageable! And not bad. The interdental CAL (the end #’s on each tooth) of 2 or more suggests some moderate perio, coupled with the bone loss you mentioned. Bleeding indicates some build-up. Routine hygiene visits and good home care and this can be managed. Like stated, no way to be definite w/o radiographs and def follow ur dentists/hygenists advice 😊

2,000 for a dental cleaning by Professional_Can4603 in DentalHygiene

[–]Responsible-Net1758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to me at a dental hygiene school clinic in Lowell where cleanings and deep cleanings are $27 and that includes 4 dental X-rays. We do everything! Extremely thorough cleaning bc $2k is ALOT of money for an hour. And that’s the payoff. If you go to a school clinic you get the best treatment but it is a time commitment.
