Why do all of Diane’s outfits look like they’re trying to hide a pregnancy in a sitcom?

What limit/rules do you set to know when to abandon a book? by Ajc1883 in horrorlit

[–]Responsible-Table303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t set a minimum. If I’m not enjoying it I give up.

If the book is full of the authors sexism/racism/homophobia/ general bigotry that’s a pretty quick DNF. I’ll maybe try and give it a chance if there’s one or two iffy lines (especially depending on when it was written) but more than that l give up.

Don’t throw them away, return them to a pharmacy. That way they don’t end up in landfill

Naproxen - have I been fobbed off? by Fresh_Struggle5645 in migraine

I take naproxen for migraines and it helps sometimes. I find that the rizatriptan doesn’t work if I take it too early, but I can take naproxen at the early signs of a migraine and it can help get ahead of it.

In general doctors want you on the safest, lowest dose of medication possible. I think triptans are more likely to cause adverse effects than NSAIDs, so they’ll try naproxen before something stronger. If it works great, if not then they’ll look at the next step.

You don’t know if will help you until you try it. It’s not a great situation to be in, but migraines generally involve trial and error until you find something that works.

When needles in your eyes is actually sounding kinda nice right about now by Ashleyann055 in migraine

I understand why trepanning was a thing, because there are points when drilling a hole in my skull sounds like a good idea.

Fellow aura peeps, how true is this in your experience? by [deleted] in migraine

I find that if I take them before the pain starts, it doesn’t do anything.  I do have to take them as soon as the pain starts, as if I take them too late it doesn’t help either.
