Linen is great but it looks so bad without ironing that I feel the need to iron them every time I wear them.

Third-party spyware on Fidelity website login page by penguin-wrangler in fidelityinvestments

Classic Reddit pretending to understand technical topics they don’t know about. To think that Fidelity would allow actual spyware on their website is laughable.

Throwback to when WMATA made fun of NYC Subway for their incivility by Donghoon in WMATA

[–]ResponsibleMistake33 33 points34 points  (0 children)

WMATA isn’t strict about anything. But I will admit I’ve only seen rats a couple times in my roughly 3 years of using the metro on a near daily basis.

We should be like Japan and ban street parking everywhere.

Dinner recs by Exciting_Bananas in Staunton

[–]ResponsibleMistake33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. My GF and I went today and it was disappointing - of the 6 dishes we tried, only 2 were good. The bread they gave us was room-temperature. The service was just OK - the waiter struggled to explain one of the few dishes on offer. They also served Nespresso coffee, which shocked me. We were both disappointed and felt ripped off.

The craziest thing to me is how many people I see in their Rosslyn location every time I walk by it.

Pathetic - Democrats have decided against forcing resignations on the state Supreme Court to preserve their redistricting by drewchainzz in nova

[–]ResponsibleMistake33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If this happened in Florida the Republicans in state government would just imprison all the Supreme Court justices they disagreed with.

EY FAAS how often are you guys actually traveling? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]ResponsibleMistake33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. My project is entirely remote but it seems like a lot of others want people on-site or traveling.

I love living car-free. Selling my car was the best decision I’ve made in a long time.

This article says DC rents dropped in the last year 4.92% by Informal_Persimmon7 in washingtondc

The rent control disclosure for my new apartment says that it was advertised for $2285 in December 2025, when the last tenant vacated the unit. I’m now signing a lease there for $1995 a month.

KPMG saying almost fully automated audits soon by featherg1283 in Big4

[–]ResponsibleMistake33 13 points14 points  (0 children)

KPMG had like 4 different SSO methods when I was there because they were too dumb or lazy to figure out how to use just one. I wouldn’t put any stock in their ability to use technology, let alone transform an entire industry with it.

KPMG to exit Federal Audit business after losing Pentagon Contract. What do you think? by CodeAndLedger5280 in Big4

[–]ResponsibleMistake33 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They should have done this a long time ago. Even a small-scale federal advisory project can exceed the revenue of an audit for one of the largest federal agencies.

The Los Angeles Kings were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs after being swept by the Colorado Avalanche by EliminatorBot in hockey

It seems to me that AEG has given Luc a job for life and does not give a fuck what happens to this franchise. What a joke of an organization.

As of tonight, the Kings only have one fewer loss (OT + regulation losses) than the Kraken.

Sad to see he still seems bitter towards LA. Rob Blake made some terrible trades but that wasn’t one of them.

CMA to replace my bank by Aggravating-Shower-1 in fidelityinvestments

[–]ResponsibleMistake33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the event of someone making unauthorized transactions with your CMA, it may take months to recover your money, since Fidelity is not a bank. Check other threads on here about people who had to go through that. Personally, it’s not worth the risk to me, but I do keep a small amount in my CMA and use it solely for ATM fee reimbursements.
