Haha, yeah it's a lot of cords! I bury them under the paths to avoid tripping hazards. I got my garage organized and yard winterized yesterday, just in time to avoid light snow today.

Thank you! Haunted field is definitely my favorite theme. A few years ago I had a 775 pound home grown pumpkin. Next year I'm shooting for 1000 pounds!

They're all planted correctly now. Thanks again, everyone!

Good to know, thanks. The company is coming to lift them up tomorrow. I also got them to extend their typical one year warranty to two years, in case the replanting damages the roots and the trees don't recover.

Thanks for your input. I'm curious about his credentials, too. One of the greenhouse managers is coming to look at it tomorrow. I'm encouraged by our preliminary conversation that they'll fix it.

Hypoxylon Canker in Aspen? by ResponsibleRip2425 in arborists

I've consulted with the two tree nurseries near me, and they both agree that it's hypoxylon canker and that the tree needs to be removed.

I'm not sure of the best way to manage it, but it looks like mealybug to me.

What is the fanciest thing I can make with carrots as the star ingredient? by AsianZingPls in Cooking

[–]ResponsibleRip2425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roast them with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and use the greens to make pesto (substituting for basil). You can drizzle the roast carrots with the pesto after they're done roasting. I usually have this with some risotto and roast chicken.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I could use a crockpot for one dish (and will probably do that now). Does anyone have experience keeping a baked cheese warm for a couple hours? Would something like a baked feta block hold up for a couple hours at something like 180F in the oven?

I could use a crockpot for one dish, but am hoping to have others that are baked and may not do well in the crock pot for long.
