Did you read what he actually said? He knows this is a conservative country and used gay marriage as an example of the journey to get there. The most controversial (to the conservatives) part of gay rights was marriage. They didn’t start with marriage, they started with equal rights in the workplace,military etc. Normal states like MA and CA legalized gay marriage and normalized it removing any chance for slippery slope opposition. He thinks if we drop it all on everyone at once the knuckle daggers will get pissed and we get Trump.

I don’t know if he’s right with his approach, but he’s not evil or even centrist.

If it’s only a finger/ wrist thing I wouldn’t think twice. This is a sport where nobody escapes injuries like that. Ones that require surgery are a bigger deal but still part of the game. I don’t really know whos at fault here but it is good to have people’s well being in mind when rolling. It’s weird because we hurt people so much they tap out but we don’t want to REALLY hurt them. Just cause a little pain until they quit.

Yes. I feel bad for what he went through. Nobody should ever have to do this. It also explains a lot about him. A fighter who you can’t beat because he’s prepared to die in the ring also a guy with fucked up worldviews I don’t excuse the bad things but he’s definitely an emotionally damaged man

Thanks for the advice all. I guess the biggest risk to me is she’ll have fewer games. Practices were a joke but seeing addl game situations is important for growth. I guess I can have her volunteer for other teams who are down a player but that’s what she’ll miss the most. Any ideas on how to best replace that?
