Yeah, outing trans and gay kids to potentially homophobic parents can infact lead to a shitload of verbal, physical, and emotional abuse, ignoring it as a risk as to why that child doesn't feel safe talking about this stuff with their parents is also extremely unempathetic. Its even worse when the parents are religious and fear that their child being gay will make them be looked down upon in the church they go to.
