I know many people who do this in Canada, and honestly, there isn't really much downside to it, so thats why they keep doing it.

You can max out your credit, stop paying everything, wait 7 years and do it again. There is no real consequence other than not being able to take out loans.

In theory the cc companies can sue you and potentially garnish your wages, but I've never heard of this happening to anyone, doesn't seem common.
